I hope the SP in Crysis 2 is like the one in Crysis 1, but I am very glad that the MP is very different. The MP in Crysis was boring as shit. The maps were way too large, looked like shit and the spawning was horrible at best.
And the spawning in this CoD-like version is any better? Not really.
And the spawning in this CoD-like version is any better? Not really.
It's a CoD-like version done right.
It's a CoD-like version done right.
If you want CoD gameplay, go play CoD4 with friends. Crytek could improve what they had instead of dumping multiplayer innovation and just doing same shit MP that CoD has. Like 1STrandomman said, if they put Crysis on the box, why use CoD-like gameplay? They could make a spin-off game, name it something different, use CE3 and put CoD-like gameplay mechanics. Look at battlefield series and spin-offs. I'm sorry if this sounds biased, but I just don't find anything interesting in spawning randomly on small map and running around spraying everyone. I bet if they wanted, they could make CoD-like gameplay as a separate game-mode. Don't tell me no one wants BC2 sized maps with 32/64 players + nanosuits, where you can clearly see the frontline and see the progression of the battle. Addendum: Don't pull out 'fast paced and intense is much more fun' card on me. I never said I don't like it, infact, I pretty much love UT99, and played Q3 a lot (and might I add, much more fun to play than CoD, because you know everyone is equal, without gunships, perks or some other unnecessary shit, and if someone kills you, it's 95% skill. There are still fun and accidental shot/kills :v:). I also like tactical, slow-paced approach, it's just as fun whenever you trick your enemy. It's just all these CoD-like features is spreading on every shooter and I don't like it. Most FPS don't stand out or look unique anymore. Mini-addendum #2: As someone said earlier in this thread, it almost feels like 90% of time it's just luck instead of skill.
Can someone that played the leak confirm for me if you can still pick up and throw random objects?
Can someone that played the leak confirm for me if you can still pick up and throw random objects?

Loose objects as in laptops, monitors, and boxes? Yes you can, one of the tips tells you to throw items when sneaking to distract enemies.

Thanks, didn't see that post before.
I'm going to wait until I buy it to use the editor. I've gotten familiar enough with it now and the sheer amount of content you get to work with is great.
the sniper is hilariously stupid, the bullet hit can be upto 3 meters off and people still get the kill every single time
I've had the opposite experience as a sniper player.... I'll shoot at the head 3-4 times and all my bullets miss, while other times it actually hits
I've had the opposite experience as a sniper player.... I'll shoot at the head 3-4 times and all my bullets miss, while other times it actually hits
I suppose hitbox lag
I've had the opposite experience as a sniper player.... I'll shoot at the head 3-4 times and all my bullets miss, while other times it actually hits
My shots NEVER hit unless I spam shooting at their face like 5 times :aaaaa:
The demo shows CoD with nanosuits. There is no arguing with that. It's fun but it's not original in any way. Crytek, really? You guys are so awesome in terms of technology. Always the newest stuff, implemented almost flawlessly, a modding support that is only matched by Valve with Source and Epic Games with the Unreal Engine. Modding tools, action packed cutscenes and almost real life like animations, graphics that look like photographs, no matter if town or jungle and yet, YOU HAVE THE CREATIVITY OF A BRICK Look at the story. Bad guys here, you are a good guy, please player, shoot all the bad guys, go there and shoot more bad guys. The fact that the player can sneak/tank/jump/whatever due to the nanosuit doesn't change the story at all. It's dull. "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" had a less cliché ridden story and that's from 1977. Hell, even the Star Trek movies have a more ambivalent approach to the humans/aliens idea. That's sad. Such great technology and what is it used for? Shoot the soldiers/aliens.
RustySpannerz;28478599'] Crysis's SP got incredibly boring after the bit with the frozen ship. The aliens just ruined it for me.
Well, I thought that was obvious. I just love the choices you have when fighting the Koreans. Hell, you don't even have to fight.

I think one of the big reasons that the multiplayer was changed from semi-unique Battlefield-esque to CoD with nanosuits (not that I have a problem with this) is to get my console players on board. That way they can easily move from CoD to Crysis, increasing sales.

And fuck me sideways if people are actually talking about skill in videogames. Right now, what I see the most here is CoD hate. When Crysis "copied" (or is it without " "?) BF2, no one cried. Goddamit, I'd rather have a game where you actually kill more then then a game where you look for people and die after 2 minutes of being alive and do nothing.
Multiplayer Progression Part 3: Perks, Skill Assessments, and Dog Tags "God, what's he doing to that body?" :v:
I wish the mystery tags actually worked. Damn this ported demo. Christ I have 770 tags I could use to unlock all 64 of the mystery ones.
Since this game is from EA, is it going to feature that dumbass MP code system that prevents renters from playing multiplayer?
Since this game is from EA, is it going to feature that dumbass MP code system that prevents renters from playing multiplayer?
No, in fact it was just confirmed today. http://www.destructoid.com/crysis-2-won-t-use-online-pass-for-multiplayer-195869.phtml
It is said that Crytek did not want to have its game used as a "testbed" for the scheme, and that it didn't want a "wall" put up between consumers and the game's online mode. Electronic Arts would not confirm any reasons for the decision, simply stating that the fact that the game won't use Online Pass.
Fuck yes, instead of buying I'll just whore it from gamefly for a month

The reason people are "crying" now is because Crytek set a precedence with Crysis. By making the franchise a series, they declared an intention to make more games that were similar to the first. By heavily changing the gameplay formula in order to copy COD, they're screwing with people's expectations. It's like if a movie director made an action movie, and then announced a sequel that was a romantic comedy in a time when romantic comedies were more popular. Not only are they betraying the expectations of the original's fans, they are obviously making changes purely in order to cater to a larger demographic. In other words: selling out. It doesn't matter if the original bared similarities to other action movies, the second is so blatantly different in ways that are obviously done to try and get more money that it warrants scorn from fans of the original, particularly because the second is missing everything that made the first fun for them. Do you understand? Fans of the original want one thing, but the studio has gone in the completely opposite direction clearly in an effort to cater to a different demographic. I'm not sure how I can explain this any clearer.

For far too long we have fallen victim to sequels that were the same game we had before, with new weapons/ better graphics. With Crysis 2, they changed up the gameplay to make it feel like a NEW GAME. Army of Two did their sequel perfectly, Halo: Reach did it (almost) perfectly, Half-Life did it perfectly. If you wanted the same game as before go download some mods and stop whining. EDIT: And by the way, the movie industry isn't the same as the video game industry. With a movie sequel, you watch it to advance the story from the first one/revisit the characters, so changing the genre is ridiculous. You can call it selling out but in the end every game company is in it for the money. If changing the game to a faster pace results in more people liking it, thus resulting in them making more money, they're going to do it.
Look at the story. Bad guys here, you are a good guy, please player, shoot all the bad guys, go there and shoot more bad guys.
And I suppose you are an expert in the area of story writing?
An expert in story writing would probably not call himself an "expert in story writing". One exception: The multiplayer as far as it is not coop lays the focus on player-player interaction, not story-wise creativity. And Grand Theft Auto always used sattire to deliver the VERY ambivalent stance on its subjects(crime etc.)
I would play Crysis 2 whether it had Crysis 1 multiplayer or the current "CoD with nanosuits". Both have their advantages.
Holy shit guys my friend gave me Crysis 1. The best part is that I can run it with ~20 fps. The funniest part is that I'm using an Intel mobile chipset graphics card

I want to buy this game just for Sandbox 3
IT IS AMAZING
Why are people still directly blaming Crytek for their disappointments in the multiplayer when, for the billionth fucking time, it was the guys who did Timesplitters working on the MP (that Crytek bought out)?
Free Radical should be slaving away at Battlefront 3 anyways
