Any advice on using Air Stomp? It's so hard to actually kill anyone with it unless I land directly on them.

Hey guys, just came into to mention: CoD. CoDCoDCoDCoD. CoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoDCoD but, although it looks like CoD, CoD CoDCoDCoD CoDCoDCoD. also, the CoD is totally like CoD. all the CoD's are THE EXACT SAME CoD, and if not very CoDDing close CoD
You don't listen. The reason people are "crying" now is because Crytek set a precedence with Crysis. By making the franchise a series, they declared an intention to make more games that were similar to the first. By heavily changing the gameplay formula in order to copy COD, they're screwing with people's expectations. It's like if a movie director made an action movie, and then announced a sequel that was a romantic comedy in a time when romantic comedies were more popular. Not only are they betraying the expectations of the original's fans, they are obviously making changes purely in order to cater to a larger demographic. In other words: selling out. It doesn't matter if the original bared similarities to other action movies, the second is so blatantly different in ways that are obviously done to try and get more money that it warrants scorn from fans of the original, particularly because the second is missing everything that made the first fun for them. Do you understand? Fans of the original want one thing, but the studio has gone in the completely opposite direction clearly in an effort to cater to a different demographic. I'm not sure how I can explain this any clearer.
What if the original sucked compared to the new one? Hell, how many still play the first? All you people do is nag that its copying CoD, disregarding that it actually looks nice and actually fits the game and story. Better. Instead of nagging that it looks like CoD in here, go do it elsewhere. If you don't like it, don't post in here. First there were people saying MW2 sucks in the MW2 threads. Now its people saying that Crysis 2 sucks because it looks like CoD in the Crysis 2 thread. WE GET IT PEOPLE! YOU DON'T LIKE COD! CRYSIS 2 HAS ELEMENTS FROM COD! ENOUGH ABOUT FUCKING COD! IT'S DEAD!
use Proximity Alarm instead
I've got every single other thing in the game maxed out. All the guns and suit modules. Only thing that isn't done is air stomp. How do I make it less worthless?
Armor Enhanced > all
The demo shows CoD with nanosuits. There is no arguing with that. It's fun but it's not original in any way. Crytek, really? You guys are so awesome in terms of technology. Always the newest stuff, implemented almost flawlessly, a modding support that is only matched by Valve with Source and Epic Games with the Unreal Engine. Modding tools, action packed cutscenes and almost real life like animations, graphics that look like photographs, no matter if town or jungle and yet, YOU HAVE THE CREATIVITY OF A BRICK Look at the story. Bad guys here, you are a good guy, please player, shoot all the bad guys, go there and shoot more bad guys. The fact that the player can sneak/tank/jump/whatever due to the nanosuit doesn't change the story at all. It's dull. "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" had a less cliché ridden story and that's from 1977. Hell, even the Star Trek movies have a more ambivalent approach to the humans/aliens idea. That's sad. Such great technology and what is it used for? Shoot the soldiers/aliens.
TBH Epic games does the same shit, and to some extent Valve (though not as much as they tend to hire people who do good ideas and tell them to make it on their source engine). I think it's pretty much garunteed that any AAA developer who also makes their own engine with the intent of selling it will produce rather "standard" (but highly polished tweaked and fun) gamplay with maybe a twist here and there that makes it a bit different. At least for their "Sell our engine" games. Crytek has done this with the Crysis series, Valve Half-Life, Epic's Gears of War and UT, etc. [editline]8th March 2011[/editline]
I think one of the big reasons that the multiplayer was changed from semi-unique Battlefield-esque to CoD with nanosuits (not that I have a problem with this) is to get my console players on board. That way they can easily move from CoD to Crysis, increasing sales.
No, I think one of the major reasons was that Crysis's multiplayer, while battlefield-esque, was seriously flawed in a lot of areas. So the easy cost effective solution to fixing it in the sequel was to adapt a really well designed muliplayer into their game. One that not only fits with the New York theme, but also can run well on all platforms and not require people to have super computers. The obvious choice is the CoD formula.
The main reason Crytek games are never really good is because Crytek is more focused on selling (Very expensive) engine licenses rather than making good games.
The main reason Crytek games are never really good is because Crytek is more focused on selling (Very expensive) engine licenses rather than making good games.
Which is funny since I have yet to dislike one of their games
fail double post

They've updated the nano suit showroom on the mycrysis site. It has all the modes except for the visor.
The main reason Crytek games are never really good is because Crytek is more focused on selling (Very expensive) engine licenses rather than making good games.
Er, how do you know how much a license costs? Are you a buyer of said license?
Patch is out that fixes login errors.
There a PC demo patch. Go to your C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis 2 Demo\bin32 and run "Crysis2Launcher" it will automatically update the demo to version 1.2 I do not know the change log. If someone can find them, that would be great. [editline]7th March 2011[/editline] Dammit, got sort of ninjad.
Changelog is on mycrysis.com
The Crysis 2 Mutliplayer Demo Patch for PC is now live and will auto-patch when you launch the game! The Steam patch will also be rolling out shortly. - “Press Start to Begin” has been changed to “Press Enter to Begin” on the main menu - Ping changes in server browser - no ping for anyone now (all 0) - Fixed crash if getting force disconnected from a dedicated server (although the force disconnect issue has been resolved anyway) - Account creation now works properly - G35 headset fix now implemented - People not able to sign in with certain characters such as “-“ or “numbers” in their username, now can See you online!
[del]Con[/del]solized. :smug:
Still no fix for the module upgrades. Christ this is annoying not being able to use them.
Aww, pings were actually useful to me.

IT'S DEAD!
I've been doing my best to keep it civil. I haven't done anything like say the game is terrible, or that people that like it are *insert stupid insult here*... in fact, quite the opposite if you look at my posts. I post here because this thread is for Crysis 2 discussion. I'm discussing it. We may disagree on the direction they've taken the game, but I'm not here trying to incite a flamewar. I'm simply posting my opinion. Additionally, where would you have me post? Should we start a separate thread for people that dislike the game? Why should we put up barriers like that when we can discuss our opinions like adults? Lastly, and this might sound a bit ridiculous, but I'm kind of hoping Crytek listens to the community enough to hear criticism from fans like me and take it into consideration. I know this isn't Crytek's forum, which is why I just might get an account at their official forum and add my own thread to the numerous complaint threads already there. However, I do think it would be wise of them to keep tabs on FP, particularly considering the large "leak thread" we once had. Besides, if you really can't handle people disagreeing with you, why not just ignore their posts?
Why did they remove pings?
[del]Con[/del]solized. :smug:
i still don't get why they even need that there in the first place. why not just go straight to the menu? [editline]8th March 2011[/editline] still can't log in!! fuck yeah
The one way I wish they would copy CoD is making the pistol more effective. Damn thing is hard to kill with :saddowns:
N1's basically a thick jacket and cargo pants thick layer while N2's more like a proper armour.
then why does the armour work better than the nanosuit 2?
That's sad. Such great technology and what is it used for? Shoot the soldiers/aliens.
Really the only reason I first got into Crysis was because of the graphics. Before I even finished building my computer I bought Crysis pack on Steam ($10, was it? last year Holiday Sale). I've heard everywhere that it was the game to run if you had the rig to max it out and it sure as hell should be. The graphics alone would make me finish the game. But the storyline also played a role in pushing towards the ending of the game. The ambiguity of the aliens in the beginning pulled me in. I love aliens. Then I fought some Koreans for a few hours. Then the freakin' aliens came out and tried to take over the world, but I stopped them. They nearly killed me and I want revenge. This game makes me feel something and a game that makes you feel is a pretty darn good game. [editline]8th March 2011[/editline] Sorry, but where do you the sandbox? I have Crysis, Warhead, Wars, and preordered Crysis 2. Where is the sandbox? I know you gotta go through installer.exe or something.
Is there a complete version of Story Trailer music? The only one I found was HZ_Loop_04.ogg, and like the name states, is a loop version.
A good thread on MyCrysis? http://www.mycrysis.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=8898
