• Borderlands - is it abandoned?

It is only fun when you play it with a friend that is the same level as you. Sometimes me and my friend just take a break from BC2/MW2 and do a few quests for a break.
I actually like this game, you can't seem to admit that it was a good game although you got bored of it quickly.
I love Borderlands, and I still play it, though mostly at the PS3, split-screen with a friend. I miss the sub-forum, too :saddowns:
borderlands was terrible
borderlands was awesome. We made all the quests with three friends, totally finished the game, we had great fun while reviving eachother while being charged by skagzilla, and finally, the Borderlands Editor (Which is fucking unstable, I give you that) allowed us to create custom maps and custom quests. I'm still playing it.
Borderlands is fun if you get together with some friends, everyone is the same level, everyone is nice and you distribute loot evenly, you haven't played through it before, and you didn't buy it for the supposed gun variety. If you're missing two or three of those things, it's going to get boring and shitty real fast. Usually, after the first playthrough, your friends surpass you in level, and usually people won't be so keen on actually sharing loot, so usually it's first-come first-serve since there's no rolling for loot, the story and quests get extremely repetitive, and there are virtually no high points to it whatsoever. The gun variety isn't what was promised in the trailers and presentations, because there are only five or six types of guns, and you just find them with three different kinds of stats, and only a handful of them actually have unique names. In short, Borderlands is shitty once you finish a playthrough of it.
I was online a few days ago, there were atleast 30 servers.
I finished the game like 5 times. First 2 playthroughs were solo, all other - with one friend. IMO this is a great game to play with friends, but more than one playthrough alone is a pain and boring.
staring down at ubisoft intro like re spawns got me seizures :wth:
I despise the game playing alone, but my friends just got into PC gaming and I couldn't think of many recent co-op games so we decided to play it again and it's incredibly fun together.
it's one of those games that most people say was bad because it didn't meet their expectations, which isn't the game's fault
it's one of those games that most people say was bad because it didn't meet their expectations, which isn't the game's fault
Yes, it is, because it's almost universally accepted that Borderlands didn't deliver on what it said it would.
It perfectly delivered if you played with friends.
It perfectly delivered if you played with friends.
It's fun when you play with friends, but that doesn't mean it does what it said it would do.
Pugs ruin the online experience....even more so than your usual twats/griefers in other games. Sadly, they are also a lot more common. Sinlge Player is win, for while. Online is awesome sauce...with friends.
I thought the game would be a little like monster hunter, as in you get missions from a board and go hunt gigantic monsters. I thought that the Rakk Hive type monsters would be commonplace and you would make your own vehicles have fun with tons of friends. I was sadly mistaken.
I thought it would be like this too. Gigantic bosses and creatures everywhere. Give you something to use those huge guns you found other than psycho's and bandits. Nope. Woulda made the game much more fun. We need a game with randomly generated bosses. Borderlands style, random guns everywhere. And random bosses.
Borderlands is okay, but the way reviewers gave ratings for this game is insane. 8.8 from IGN!
The idea was good, but the execution was out right terrible. There isn't enough variation to anything in the game. Enemies, guns, grenades, levels you name it! It seems like it was extremely rushed.
I can answer this question with a simple word. Repetitive.
I got really bored of it the day some fuck gave me a shotgun that insta-kills everything, and a shield the strength of which i have neither the time nor inclination to write down.
I know it was trying to be unique with the art style, but what you ended up with was something that I couldn't play for more than half an hour at a time without getting sore eyes. This is not quake on a 640 x 800 monitor, this is a fucking current generation game on a 1920 x 1200 monitor, don't use graphics that aren't pleasing to the eye.

This is why I like that my friend gave me it, I didn't pay for this boring game. It was fun for about a week or two, thats about it.

Noooooo i never dieeeeeeee
I've got it on 360, beat the game and all the DLCs.. really fun. Last night me and another guy went through the entire vanilla campaign in an hour and twenty eight minutes. :v:
Looks like my friends were right when they told me not to buy this.

I loved it. I spent hours upon hours on that game just in singleplayer. Striving for the the next best gun. It never got boring for me. Awhole bunch of splosions and shit. But then I got ahold of hacked weapons and it ruined it for me. Except that mad moxxi add-on. Shit was bonkers.
