I guess i'll just leave this here.

You know, I've been thinking last night and I figured two things in a little rant or something about recent Sonic things;
A.) Have the main Sonic Team develop Sonic 4 Episode 3. Please. Regulate DIMPS back to the handheld or spinoff stuff, they can't capture the classic-style charm from Sonic Advance 1 and they certainly can't fully recreate a modern experience of the classic games themselves, even despite their efforts with Episode 2; Generations, however, proved that Sonic Team definitely knows how to make some actual, skillful platforming that isn't bullshit or gimmick-filled. Not to mention, they'd probably have a less annoying approach to the soundtrack than 'genesis drum samples, blaring cat/duck synth that loops after thirty-fourty seconds'.
B.) I think Sonic Generations might've actually been more rushed than I thought. Yes, it's a brilliant game and it is very high-quality - right up until the last two bosses, who are kinda.. Not well designed and buggy. Only Green Hill and Sky Sanctuary modern stages have a secondary track for reaching max speed; Chemical Plant and every other level use a sound-reducing filter when boosting or just plain don't do it, which makes me ponder if they had more planned for the soundtrack (or if the tracks/remixes were composed later on in the game's cycle). Can't think of any other 'rushed issues' other than possibly cutscenes, but people have nitpicked those to hell and back already, and the game might've not been rushed after all, so i'm just rambling about nitpicks of my own now.

Not sure if folks have asked - they probably have - but it's interesting how the DLC system is present in the game almost solely for the Casino Night pinball level. Infact, the DLC system is how the modders even get the levels they make/port into the game, which is sort of ironic. :v:
The gameplay in Dreamcast Sonic was actually kind of shitty. You're all just wearing nostalgia glasses. The controls were too wonky, and the camera was god-awful. I'll take Modern Sonic over Dreamcast Sonic any day.
I think that there should have been a level from Shadow the Hedgehog, it was nowhere near as bad as Anything between Sonic 06' and Unleashed (Unless there was a good 3D game between them, 06 is the worst, and Unleashed pulled Sonic out of that slump.). And I think there's a few good candidates, the one level on the G.U.N. Air base where you had to chase the president's plane would be good. Maybe one of the Black Comet levels, but I liked the game, considering some of the things that came after it, I still put it up there with Sonic Heroes. I don't get why people were mad about the gunplay aspect, Sega wanted to try something new, and the whole point of the Good/Bad system is choosing to either wreck everything with rocket launchers, take out soldiers, annihilate everything, or stick with your homing attack and get to the end of the stage.
Somehow Steam rolled back my Sonic Generations save to before I beat the final boss. I was half complete with the challenges and everything. What the fuck?
Picked up Sonic Generations during the summer sale and damn, I wish I picked this one up sooner. Best Sonic game I've played since Sonic Adventure 2 Battle.
For once I wish they would release some new stages as DLC. Would definitely pay for em.

Sonic Adventure 1 was a buggy mess, but Adventure 2 wasn't bad at all. Same with Sonic Heroes, which, for a Sonic game, is extremely under-rated.
I think Sonic Heroes is fucking cool.
I actually ordered a copy of sonic heroes for gamecube on amazon, it's arriving on the 6th or the 8th of august, so i'll be able to see if it's any good or not.

It looks interesting, being the first major custom stage that isn't just a direct port of some other one to be nearing release and all (as far as I know; and by direct port, I mean this changes gameplay a little and actually has new designs ontop of the original ones), but the actual gameplay behind it just looks boring.
I started work on a mod for Generations that changes some characters and maps.

Amy's boot texture is the most elusive texture file in my opinion, otherwise I would be done with what I'm doing to Chemical Plant.
Now I just need to find out how to modify Subtitle/Text Bubble names.
