Sorry Fhenexx for connecting my $100,000 Highway to your region without permission. I thought it would hit the other region next to yours [t]http://i42.tinypic.com/vvspy.png[/t]
My God, every city I build turns into one gigantic entanglement of Industrial mixed with Residential with Commercial tucked in here and there :v: It looks like one gigantic bloody slum. [editline]6th March 2012[/editline]
I AM THE SLUM KING

im going to be working on my city called Metro city, it has rail and highway connections feel free to build next to it and join onto my highways and rails, i want to have a massive highway and rail system connecting the whole region
I think we should have some sort of web based system for claiming spots on the map.
Alright, I did backup Land of the Manly Men, Sr. so how do I put it back in the region?
I think I managed the symbolic link thing , Imma start editing now .
PoliticalGamer those industrial sectors you built next to my city of Fiow are a dream come true. I just went into the city and the needs for everything shot up and pretty much the entire city redeveloped. Rolling in the cash now, well not really because I spent it all but still, thanks.

Those are all just extra from me importing terrain into the region, which apparently didn't work because they keep fucking disappearing.
I'd participate, but I'm terrible at SC4 and I'd fuck up the dropbox process somehow.
I'd participate, but I'm terrible at SC4 and I'd fuck up the dropbox process somehow.
Trust me, SC4 is alot easier than it looks Just play the "How to make money" tutorial on Rush Hour to see what I mean. I used to be abseloutely terrible too but now I am a [del]great god[/del] fairly decent city mayor... maker... person.
Okay I think we need a better region map. Half of the map is water and the rest is annoyingly hilly-but-not-quite-mountains.
Political Gamer you want the spot east of Noyos/West of Downtown Rushville? I'll take it if you don't want it but I don't mind.
Political Gamer you want the spot east of Noyos/West of Downtown Rushville? Fine by me, but can you be careful linking roads into Noyos and Elisot because there pretty much packed in like sardines so attaching a road might destroy something.
We should prob. make a steam group for this, and make it a requirement to be in the chat if you're about to upload a save, that way nothing conflicts.
Okay I think we need a better region map. Half of the map is water and the rest is annoyingly hilly-but-not-quite-mountains.
Well, to be completely fair, it would seem that most of the region has gotten corrupted somehow and people built in the corrupted areas, making it seem much less eye-catching than before. I was thinking of doing another region wipe when or if we switch to FTPBox, but allow people to import their cities in. If you guys want another region, though, all you have to do it ask.
I wan't to join.
We should prob. make a steam group for this, and make it a requirement to be in the chat if you're about to upload a save, that way nothing conflicts.
We do, but I haven't put it in the OP just yet.
I wan't to join.
Then PM your email so I can invite you to the Dropbox.
Please, no one take the square directly north of land of the Manly Men. I'm going to start building there and I don't want a repeat of last time.
my city has started. Please all of you build seaports if you can so my goods can leave my small lonely island.
Unless some mod or plugin you have changes this, seaports are industrial demand cap relief and don't need other seaports, only industrial buildings and roads nearby. Ferries, on the other hand, do require other ports like it.
Wait, I have a backup save of my Land of the Manly Men, Sr. How can I go about putting it back on the map?
We do, but I haven't put it in the OP just yet. Then PM your email so I can invite you to the Dropbox.
post it in the OP and make a rule about having to be in chat while you're fucking around on the map, that way it's easier to commincate with where we're gonna put the cites.
post it in the OP and make a rule about having to be in chat while you're fucking around on the map, that way it's easier to commincate with where we're gonna put the cites.
Yeah I keep forgetting to put it in the OP. As for the second rule, I'll cogitate on it but not until we switch out of Dropbox. [editline]6th March 2012[/editline] Also Steam group is up in the OP. [editline]6th March 2012[/editline] Also because I'm kind of sick of fixing the terrain every time it break, I'm going to just throw my backup in to the Dropbox. If you want to go and fix it, just put the backup into the Dropbox, make a city in it, and then import it into the region.
lil' question: does pollution affect the the map or is it local only?
How am I suppose to link the plugins? I did the region just fine, but I can't do the plugins.
Wow, staying within budgetary constraints and staying in the black with my income is like keeping my head above water, how do you guys manage to have such successful cities? Mine wind up looking like bloody slums (see Krunk area)
Wow, staying within budgetary constraints and staying in the black with my income is like keeping my head above water, how do you guys manage to have such successful cities?
Don't build every utility and public service right up.
Alright, now how to you prevent everything from becoming a slummy cluster-fuck?
lil' question: does pollution affect the the map or is it local only?
Pollution is only for one city, and stops entirely at the border. Pollution of each building has a fixed radius. Pollution is calculated by building, so zoning entirely for larger sized buildings will slightly lower pollution. Subways and ferries do not produce pollution. Water pollution requires the presence of pipes, so leaving farms and factories out of the water grid is advisable. Water pollution is easily treatable with regularly distributed water treatment facilities, but air pollution must be destroyed at the source. Furthermore, the graph calculates pollution according to the amount of developed tiles, so zoning large swathes of land can lower overall pollution, in case you want the resort hotel. Also, cities can have entirely dirty industry/power plants/cheap garbage disposal, but for the sake of traffic such cities should not be connected to residential cities and only exist for regional growth. In short, your city only. Go nuts with your smoggy shit.
Hey Political Gamer mind if I set up a link between Piths and your Industrial Districts?
