I think I'm going to wait until I can figure out how we're going to host things first before I do the wipe.
I'm still trying to figure that one out. If you guys have any blinding insights how to do it, be my guest...
Alright, there's a mod in the folder that gets rid of normal seaports and makes it into a bunch of little pieces, can we get rid of that?

If everyone else is fine with it, sure.
If we do a new region I vote that we leave the terrain alone and just work with it. Terraforming created a clusterfuck last round.
How about we use the CAM instead of NAM. IT works much better, doesn't add useless tiles that spam up the road menu, and it adds more buildings.
Agree or disagree?

Just make sure to reconcile edges after terraforming?

It's not so much that, as the map just looks sloppy now.
Beware... if you use no mods I just might have to join!
What the fucking fuck.
I just spent 2 fucking hours building a highly elaborate transportation system with monorails, busses, bridges and all that shit. So I zone everything, add a power plant and hit fast forward.
Sit there for five fucking minutes, and the residential does jack shit. The industrial is building quite nicely, but the residential is just fucking sitting there. So, I think that maybe the power isn't coming across properly. So I put a power plant right smack in the fucking middle of the goddamn residential zone, and fast forward again. So, I think I might as well try rezoning. Just as I am about to exit, my fucking autosaver piece of shit starts up and saves the game for me. What the fucking shitfuck.
I'm really pissed (in case you couldn't tell) and I need help fast. Is there any reason why my residential zones aren't doing anything? Or is the buggy game just fucking up? Fuck.
I also checked everything, there is no FUCKING REASON FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK. My nerves are wearing. Please help.
Thanks for the heart, OvB. I don't like being mad, I just hate it when I waste time.

demand is all fucked up in the whole region, i have the same problem with my cities, when i place down commercial areas i get skyscrapers popping up but residential and industrial do nothing
Building a hugely dense city with vast amounts of skyscrapers should be utterly impossible without a well balanced region-wide economy. Yet I noticed some people got those rather quickly and basically took the entire medium/high wealth demands all for themselves, specially since a single skyscraper deals with a large amount of demand and you have to have some extremely seriously high demand for them to start appearing.
Basically what I'm saying is that the problem (Again.) is people cheating.
My cities are building fine.
One has the highest population.
Oh cool, you're restarting, I'd still like to be in on this.

Somepeople will import cities from the region they made in single player. Or the even better one, they spend the entire day working on it so that they get only the currently streamed demands at the time of start and not later on. That's why I stop every hour or so and save and then leave.
When we restart, we all should start from scratch with our cities, not importing. And not use any cheats at all.

I mean, my city's RCI is semi-fucked. My city is filled with middle and upper class citizens, but my commercial industry consists almost completely of low-wealth commercial services.
Lets just do this!
New region with importing cities from ANYWHERE not allowed as that fucks up demand
If we are going to use mods, everyone playing MUST USE THE SAME MODS FULL STOP.
If we are not going to use mods, NO ONE CAN USE MODS FULL STOP.
That should be simple enough.
Waiting for OP to revise the rules, etc.
if so, I'm going to be in this and build Dystopialand
80% high density Dirty/Manufacturing industrial, fuck da environment.
remaining 20% is massive housing projects :P
last time I did that I had to have 3 nuclear power plants to satisfy power supply, landscape was a maze of smokestacks.
My mayor rating was utter shit though.
After that I'll build hightechland! (ask me if you need help getting high tech)

DO NOT DO THIS.
DIRTY INDUSTRY CITIES DO NOT DRIVE THE GROWTH OF THE REGION.
THEY ONLY GENERATE DEMAND FOR THE POOR.
MAKE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY ONLY AND HOUSING PROJECTS.
Also, Houston 1990 is best for housing projects, as they have Hamster Tenements, with 8146 people, and Hope Tenements, which holds approximately 6000.

exactly, it's my master plan to suck growth dry

Just fuck over the region as bad as you can before the wipe?
[editline]9th March 2012[/editline]
I will join you...
Whenever I get into the collab though, not yet
So, are individual building plugins allowed, or only the mods in that there public plugins folder.
I think we are going to just stick with whats in the Dropbox, We have no idea what screws up RCI and what doesn't
how about no additional mods/cities period.
Everyone fresh install (if you have mods that you don't know how to completely uninstall), get the REQUIRED mods from the dropbox, and everyone make FRESH cities, not existing ones.
should help with our corruption problems
Haha yes.
Remember that less garbage and pollution will be produced if you keep entirely to 4x4 lots. You'll also likely be generating some CS$, but after a while they'll all tend towards Small Shops, which are 1x3 buildings. Be sure to regulate traffic over there so that pollution doesn't cripple that. I-D tends towards Burning Units, so it is advisable to shape blocks in a way which accommodates those buildings. Garbage can be dealt with entirely by funding W->E plants at 0, power can similarly be dealt with by about 1 for every 100 Burning Units. Zone the whole area to shut the environment advisor up using the ctrl key to avoid actual development of the zone. Large plazas are the most effective demand cap breakers to my knowledge aside from the Stadia. Be sure to keep the Mayor Rating above 30 until you get the Major and Minor League Stadia. A sunken highway going under the whole slum will make for an excellent UDI.
And that's all I have to say about that.

I'd really like to join, but I racked up thousands of plugins throughout the years, having default cities is gonna feel so weird...
Same. Guess I'm out.
I love my custom buildings.
What mod(s)? That looks awesome.
Warsaw wall-to-wall commerce, Soviet Tenements, Pripyat apartments, Paris civic buildings.
