• Facepunch SC4 Collaboration v2. Now with insane cultists worshipping the void at the edge of town

I've having driver troubles. I'll have to uninstall the game and reinstall before I can get into the collab.
Profan posted that he has a server(?) lying around.
I don't know why he has one just lying around, but if he wants to configure it so we can use it, then I have nothing against it. I need to fix up the region we have right now first, though.
so far so good  saving
Can someone help me by obliterating (NOT DELETING) the weirdly numbered and named cities? That was just something I needed so I could easily import the cells in.
Yeah I'll get on to it make sure u guys back up your cities [editline]4th March 2012[/editline] Twin Rivers fucked up [editline]4th March 2012[/editline] i haven't touched anything near it though
Yeah I'll get on to it make sure u guys back up your cities [editline]4th March 2012[/editline] Twin Rivers fucked up [editline]4th March 2012[/editline] i haven't touched anything near it though
Sometimes cities will appear to fuck up if someone saved it or is currently playing it. Just keep going. However, your city, Crisis, might have corrupted. Same thing with Downtown Harrisburg. I think I have backups of both, if you need them. It would be about 30-45 minutes pre-wipe though.
Done. Death Toll: 2,991,437,352 [editline]4th March 2012[/editline] Going to go expand and rack up some more money on Dallspum.
I'm really sorry yours got corrupted. It looked really, really cool. Anyhow, if Profanwolf doesn't want us to use his VPN, I am looking at using an SVN or some other VCS, since it seems like it would suit it fine assuming that one guy was correct that you could periodically get revisions. Unfortunately, I don't know exactly how to set up an SVN or anything like that, so I'd really need some assistance there. Also, I don't care if you want to invite your non-FP friends to the collab, but be sure to verify it with me first so I can get them an invite as soon as possible.
ah damn, Roseto is gone
I'm going to make spare backups of this region, if you don't mind.
I'm doing the same thing, too, but that'd definitely help!
I'm utter shite at this game but I'll want in soon as everything finishes downloading. PM sent. [editline]4th March 2012[/editline] also how much space does the collab take i could probably set up an SVN on my VPS

[editline]4th March 2012[/editline] also how much space does the collab take i could probably set up an SVN on my VPS
Well, I do have a guide up in the OP which can get you a small profit in the very beginning, but how well it works, you'll have to see for yourself. The collab itself is less than 100MB, but it can grow. However, I can never see it hitting anything above 5GB unless a lot of people joined. As for the SVN, that would be awesome, but I would need to figure out how to move things over to the SVN, not to mention I would have to figure out if the SVN idea would even work.
Yeah I obliterated Twin Rivers and started again
Have you added me into the collab yet or was I too late to join?
Have you added me into the collab yet or was I too late to join?
It's never too late to join, but I do believe I added you. Check your email.
It's never too late to join, but I do believe I added you. Check your email.
Nothing on my mail I'm afraid. [editline]4th March 2012[/editline] Ah its there now, thank you very much.
Someone should put all the required (and recommended) mods on the Dropbox - the modding site linked in the OP not only requires registration, but has fucked up when I tried to register.
Someone should put all the required (and recommended) mods on the Dropbox - the modding site linked in the OP not only requires registration, but has fucked up when I tried to register.
Good idea. We were actually planning on putting all of the plugins required on the Dropbox anyhow. I don't have all the recommended ones on me right now, but I'll try and get them. Done. You can now download NAM directly from the Dropbox (it might also support symbolic linking). I'll work on getting the recommended mods in there, too. Please suggest any mods you want as "recommended" for the collab and I'll get them out there.
Wait, why would you have something like that just... lying around? What do you mean by that? Check my guide up in the OP: "Fhex's Guide to a Semisuccessful City"
Well i just figured, why not :v: I can set up a FTPBox or somethng like it on it if you want me to, just PM me if you want my help, no guarantees, but still!
Have I done something wrong or is it supposed to look like this?
Have I done something wrong or is it supposed to look like this?
Two things could be happening. a) it could be a map glitch, which can be fixed by loading another map and coming back b) your Dropbox hasn't completely synced yet and still needs to download a few more things.
Am I allowed back on, or am I still deemed a troll?
That's what happens when I try to take care of my citizens.
Silly man. Only build anything besides electricity when your administrator says "lol guys we really need this thing now seriously". Until then, it is just moneysink.
Dirty industry really likes paying 20% taxes in my city for some reason. Too bad I decided to boot them all out. The instant that I destroyed a large enough area, a high tech building popped up in a highly polluted area with large parks to coax them in. I don't even know.
Would anyone be interested in an SC3K collab?
The deletion drama is the exact reason why you guys should move to a (D)VCS solution as soon as possible. Using those, when properly configured, it's literally impossible to fuck up other's work.

The Dropbox is not going to stay, though, so take some solace into that.
Feel free to build some cities next to mine, I don't think 100,000 jobs is enough for my 230,000 citizens. [editline]5th March 2012[/editline] I've already built connections to the northern and western lands next to my city.
Sloth Rapids has been founded in the southeast corner. Yes you may connect.
