I played when it first went into Alpha, has the framerate been improved/game been optimized?
I used to get random lag spikes and no matches(Literally when alpha started, so that would explain it).

As far as I'm aware there have been several updates that made the game more optimized, yes. I've only started playing a short while ago but I haven't experienced any of the problems you noted.
Dis game is pretty but I found the game-play boring
What are the system requirements

You're just saying that because your mech kept ending up as a flaming pile of metal after I was done with it.

I just hope the controller isn't going to be mandatory
I just hope the controller isn't going to be mandatory
Why would it be?
If they did that, they'd alienate their entire playerbase to those who can afford to buy a (probably) £50-£100 controller.
Which would basically make it not a free to play game.
To be honest I think I'd be more accurate with a mouse than with a joystick. :v:
Though a controller like that obviously adds to the experience, which makes it worth it by itself.
In practically every closed beta I couldn't play at all. The server browsers showed 0 servers all the time.

The game has a matchmaking system now, though I don't think it actually properly matches people together yet. You can also change the region you're playing in in case you can't find any matches in your own region (which hasn't happened to me as of yet).

I had set it so it searches for all regions and all game types. Still didn't get anything. I think the first closed beta I actually joined properly worked but everything after that was broken.
Curious about the live action thing they announced a while back, hopefully it'll be any good.

I think it's pretty cool, but a little hard.
Also it's crashed on me a few times, but that isn't that big of a deal, because it loads pretty fast.
What's the story of this game? I don't think that peoples build big cities on retarded planet for no reason.

Not much is known of the story so far as of yet, I recommend having a look at the graphic novels I linked to on the previous page.
I have a feeling that the live-action series will explain a whole lot more though.
I thought they gave a basic synopsis, veeery far in the future, overcolonizing and over-industrialization ended up drying out the resources of the planet and the populace either left or died out, leaving some factions fighting each other for the remaining nuggets of some valuable resource
let's just say they're like the last living transformers stranded on a planet and they're fighting over energon reserves.
maybe it's so they can power one of their gigantic mothership things for a long-distance journey to find another habitable world
given it's a gratuitous mech battle game I didn't even expect that much backstory in the first place
When will Reaper come out?

Oh man my dick is ROCK hard.
Is this game worth trying? I heard it takes over sixty matches to unlock another mech. True?
60 matches? Not really, no.
More like 20 if not less if you play well.
It's definitely closer to 60 if you're one of those people who doesn't play well (like me)
It takes a REALLY long time.
Stick with your teammates, stay close to cover, make sure to use your cooldown ability on the starting mech whenever you're in a 1v1 and close to overheating, getting an EMP early on really helps as well, ping the enemy position so your teammates can come and help if you need it (or even when you don't).
I max all game's graphic settings without issues, but this game I get 20-30 FPS at lowest settings.
Weird.
Still play it though :v:
Pretty good game, got stale for me rather quickly though. May pick it up again if anything big gets added, I suppose.
Finally got around to installing the game now that I have a computer (although I had an alpha invite I didn't bother because my laptop was very slow). Played a few games, and after the first match getting used to everything, started placing on the top of the leaderboard quite regularly. I'm really enjoying the art style to the game.
Any recommendations for a mech to buy beyond the starter one?
Seems to be down for me, anyone else?
Any recommendations for a mech to buy beyond the starter one?
Don't go for the assault one is pretty much all I can say, it's basically the starter mech with a different body and a slightly different main weapon.
If you wanna go for something that just wrecks shit go with the Berserker, the ability it has increases your damage dealt.
What's the best mech if I want something fast and close range
What's the best mech if I want something fast and close range
Forgot the name but its the one with a shotgun attached.
Fun game overall but gets really old after a while as I feel that it lacks content. 2/3 guns per mech just doesn't cut it. TDM is also pretty stupid at times because whoever sticks together most wins 90% of the time
