The "Driver" Series - Oh shit I can drive through a mall!

Me too, I'd run in oncoming traffic with that thing and time it perfectly so cars would be launched sometimes hundreds of feet into the air.
What? I thought Driv3r was the best. Those wrecking physics were awesome.
I still got the original on PC :buddy:
[sp]It won't run on windows 7[/sp] :saddowns:
I really really really enjoyed Driv3r.
I had/barely have driv3r, I played that forever, my favorate thing was going to the go cart track with larger cars and either racing the track or kill the other guy in his go cart, but I mainly did a whole lotta pit menovers on people. If I remember correctly I think if you hit someone hard enough with the go cart you could either drive under them or flip them over. Unfortunaly the game died after my dog peered on it, the front of the disk got wedged in my door and got all fucked up and finally when I was moving my stuff in my roof it got crushed my my ps2 box that had a whole lotta stuff in it. God I miss that game.
I played Driver 1 a long time ago and it was seriously fucking awesome, the car chases in that were seriously cool.
Driv3r wasn't exactly horrible, but it did have a shitload of glitches and they put a bit too much focus on the shooting parts and the shooting mechanics were really bland. But it did have Michael fucking Madsen voicing Tanner, Mickey Rourke voicing that badass dude with the trenchcoat and shitload other voice actors.
In my opinion, Parallel Lines was one of the best games in the series. Yeah, it went a bit too far away from the series, as it didn't have Tanner and it missed the replay director, but it was still a fucking awesome game. It had 2 awesome timelines, which both had really great atmospheres and awesome soundtracks, the car chases in it were seriously intense, the storyline and the cutscenes were also really awesome.
Although pretty much all Driver games had awesome cutscenes.
Driver 2 was kinda fun.
We only played driv3r because our parents wouldn't let us play GTA
I loved Driv3r for the fact that you could drive a motherfucking 18 wheeler, complete with a trailer hooked to the back! :buddy:
But seriously, has anyone else noticed all the awesome actors doing the voices in Driv3r? When I saw that in the credits and heard them talk, I just went "holy shit that's fucking awesome".
Oh jesus the first three games, they are so awesome.

Driving through malls is GOLDEN.

And in nice in driver3, jumping on the ramps on the beach, fucking awesome :v:
I remember playing this on the PS1. This was my favourite game, after Spyro and Syphon Filter
Driver 2 was my favourite, Driv3r was good, it didn't deserve the hate it got.
parralel lines... I wasn't a big fan of it tbh.
Never played the first.
hey does anyone remember the gocart in driver 3? it was perfect for malls :buddy:
I remember it well..
also remember always busting off the wheels when I hit shit haha. I liked the motorbike engine sound.
I also remember racing around the go kart track :D
Is there any way to run Driver 1 on windows 7? When I run it, I can get to the menu and stuff, but when I start the actual game, it minimizes and won't go back up.
Try killing explorer.exe before you boot the game...
Maybe.
Uh, okay, now I tried running the game again and my mouse pointer is invisible.
In game or just while browsing Desktop etc.?
If it's just when outside of game, yeah that was expected.
But does the game run now?
[editline]08:01PM[/editline]
Wait just killed my explorer.exe without losing cursor..
Nah, the invisible cursor was before I tried closing explorer.exe. I tried closing it and the game runs now, but all cars have invisible wheels for some reason.

Awesome.
Driv3r was my first badass game. I loved the replay system and the Infinite Mass unlock in Istanbul had endless fun attached to it. Very glitchy game but it added to the fun.
I was so sad when they got rid of the replay system in Parallel Lines

I hated this fucking mission with a burning passion.
I clicked on the video and within the first 3 seconds raged to hell and back. GOD FUCKIN DAMN! WHY NO I CANNOT CATCH 4 CARS DRIVING IN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS THROUGH BUSY SKINNY HAVANA STREETS! The only way to do the mission was the get lucky and have some of the cars driving nearby eachother.
Driver 2: Memories.
My first Playstation game ever.
Anyone remember the secret car in driver 2? The one in the underground parking lot.
The one thing I hated were the damn pedestrians and how you could NEVER EVER hit them.
You had a gun.... Wait, shadow of a gun and they would run away from you

The car in the underground car park in Havana was a Mini.
The secret car in Chicago was some sort of big yellow buick and it rocked. Not as much as the mini though.
Fuck I remember spending hours just driving around Havana.
I barely ever trade games in. One of the only games I've had that has earned that prestigious award is Driver 3 or Driv3r, if you like to spell like a tool.
What an excellent idea, I thought, bunch of different locations, bunch of different cars, bunch of bad guys to shoot, what could go wrong?
Turns out the answer was everything. Everything could go wrong.
First mission? You're a police officer, get to the crime scene or some shit. Oh wait, your fellow police officers are bent on forcing you off the road. Great. This is an excellent introduction to the world of Driver 3 in which police officers just don't give a shit about anything.
I don't remember much else, other than the fact I didn't keep it for long and that it was a massive let down. I'd kind of be inclined to play it again though, just to see if it is as bad as I remember, or if it's just only the bad stuff stuck with me.
Was it as terrible and broken as I remember?
Good grief how I hated Driv3r.
I used to make so many replays in Driv3r, I enjoyed it without irony just because of the director mode.
Best one I had, I was fighting off cops when one of them crashes into the remains of a blown up car, it flies down the road and smashes into me, worst part is it was so far away, I saw it coming, but it was too fast to dodge.
