What was wrong with Driv3r? i thought it was pretty decent. Sure it was far from the original series but not all that bad.
Oh jesus christ now I want to play Driver 2 again >:(
I loved every single game. Never heard of driver 76 until this thread though.
I still have Driver 2, my dad bought it for me, never got past the first mission :v:
funny how this thread got brought up and a teaser just showed up http://driver.uk.ubi.com/teaser/
funny how this thread got brought up and a teaser just showed up http://driver.uk.ubi.com/teaser/
Oh god what, i hope they show something at E3, and i hope it isn't garbage.
funny how this thread got brought up and a teaser just showed up http://driver.uk.ubi.com/teaser/
That's a perfect homage right there.
driver 1999, sounds promising, anything more modern would be absolute garbage, muscle cars has always been the heart of driver, to me at least. Since driver 3 :v:
I was one of the few people to enjoy the style of driv3r.
I like the Iphone version
Did driver 2 ever get released on pc? OH GOD HOW I LOVED THAT FUCKING OPEN/CLOSE BRIDGE
funny how this thread got brought up and a teaser just showed up http://driver.uk.ubi.com/teaser/
I nostalgia'd. Hard.
I hated this fucking mission with a burning passion.
That funky music. [editline]07:40PM[/editline]
I played Driver 1 a long time ago and it was seriously fucking awesome, the car chases in that were seriously cool. Driv3r wasn't exactly horrible, but it did have a shitload of glitches and they put a bit too much focus on the shooting parts and the shooting mechanics were really bland. But it did have Michael fucking Madsen voicing Tanner, Mickey Rourke voicing that badass dude with the trenchcoat and shitload other voice actors. In my opinion, Parallel Lines was one of the best games in the series. Yeah, it went a bit too far away from the series, as it didn't have Tanner and it missed the replay director, but it was still a fucking awesome game. It had 2 awesome timelines, which both had really great atmospheres and awesome soundtracks, the car chases in it were seriously intense, the storyline and the cutscenes were also really awesome. Although pretty much all Driver games had awesome cutscenes.
Yeah, it had a great variety of voice actors. To be honest, I don't see why some Driver fans moan about Driv3r and Driver: Parallel Lines, as they are both good in some ways. While Driv3r may have been overhyped and very glitchy, it still had a tense story and that final cutscene made my shit myself. Parallel Lines was different from the other Driver games but this was also a welcome departure. I really enjoyed the two eras and the songs in each era. And let's not forget the FMV scenes that Driver is very famous for. Goddamn, they're good:
Oh yeah, I never got past this mission:
dunno if this has been mentioned but the best part of driver 2 was flipping over cars so you could bump into the area around the transmission and launch them into the air demonstrated at about 1:05 in this video
Did driver 2 ever get released on pc? OH GOD HOW I LOVED THAT FUCKING OPEN/CLOSE BRIDGE
I spent so much time playing on that bridge. Going to the top as it goes up and I slide down. Or trying to make the jump across it when the bridge is halfway up and falling into the water. YOU HAVE DROWNED or something like that
funny how this thread got brought up and a teaser just showed up http://driver.uk.ubi.com/teaser/
Looks awesome! I hope this is more like Driver 1.
Okay, man...OKAY OKAY OKAY!!!! EDIT: IF YOU DON'T NOSTALGIA YOU HAVE NO SOUL
Lol dude, I remember when I used to play Driver and I spent too much time on the first mission. Driver 1 is the best game for PS1 (and so Castlevania SotN do) Good times
Unfortunately I never got to play this because my family only ever got Nintendo consoles until 2004ish when we got an Xbox. No regrets, though. I love Mario Kart and Perfect Dark. And Donkey Kong 64. And Super Mario 64. Classics
A graphically remade version of the first Driver with slight gameplay changes would be amazing. The driving and chases would look cinematic like GRID, which would compliment the director, even with music that changes according to the situation could be something added. Seeing as it's owned by Atari, Eden could work on it; they do a pretty good job on the Test Drive Unlimited series. But of course this is just some obscure dream of mine.
I remember playing Driver 1 and being chased just to watch my reply.
Driver 3 was fun as long as you didn't do he missions. Too much running around for me. The last part of the final mission had me amazed. No driving at all. PL is good if you get it cheap (£2.99 at a Steam sale), and I got 76 for £5, and is good for a handheld console. I wish they put these upgrades into the PC version of Driver. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbPh__WXBwE Anyone know of a mod that adds transparent windows etc? And how do I get the Jaguar (the Newcastle car) to be available in any other city?
holy shit holy shit holy shit holy shit Also, I'm thinking of going back and trying to find every single Timmy Vercimilli.
I hated him... Found 3 out of 10 in Miami, and like 2 in Nice. Then I grabbed a walkthrough from the newsagent :v:
Ah, nostalgia. I remember playing the first driver on my shit pc. Driver 3 was awesome too. [editline]07:05PM[/editline] Timmy Vercetti easter egg. [editline]07:06PM[/editline] fuck ninja
Driver 3 is great, but the missions are fucking evil in Nice.
Anyone like Driver Parallel Lines? I wish they would go back to doing Las Vegas and Chicago on today's console systems. Las Vegas because I want to see some strippers! And Chicago again, because its amusing to crash my car through the doors of the Planetarium! But if you guys really want a police chase through a shopping mall, get hold of the film the Blues Brothers. They try to outrun the Chicago police by crashing into a Toys R Us, they totally destroy the toy store, not stopping for the people in their way, they then drive through the rest of the mall, and destroy a whole mess of stuff like you won't believe, and so do the cops. Since their was no special fx back then, they really did millions of dollars of damage to the shopping mall that after the film, the whole mall had to be demolished, because it was such a mess afterward. When they finally get to Chicago, they actually are driving 120mph under the L line and drive through the Dailey Center, that eventually the army has to be called to finish them off. On an episode of Family Guy, when Peter drives through the shopping mall, it actually is reference, and is the same scene and soundtrack to the Blues Brothers. Before Mac Gruber, which was based from Saturday Night Live, the Blues Brothers was as well. So I hope if Chicago is redone in another Driver game, I hope they have the cop chase through the mall, just like in the Blues Brothers.
Driver 3 was so great. Who cares about the missions. The actual gameplay was fun, the car physics and damage were way ahead of their time, even though the shooting was lame. There was so many random things to find and explore in that game, I was looking on the neoseeker forums every day for weird easter eggs and things to find. Also, the replay editor is fucking amazing.
Driv3r was like the poor mans GTA or something. I kept playing it when I had the chance, but after playing GTA (something)I really couldn't get a grip on driv3r again.
funny how this thread got brought up and a teaser just showed up http://driver.uk.ubi.com/teaser/
New driver? Oh fuck oh shit!
