Well obviously a portable version cannot hold as much data as a CD during the time period that Driver was released, so it's generally accepted that portable games were of a lesser quality than their console brothers.
Hmm... But some portable games were in my opinion better than console games, not in graphics or that, but the gameplay and replay value, Advance wars and that.
I remember playing the first game on the PS1. I couldn't get past the first story level.
I'm finding all the soundtrack songs from the games (all the ones I can find at least) and then I'll zip it and upload it for you sexy people.
I shed tears of pure nostalgia and memories of happy childhood when I read this thread. Thank you OP [editline]12:50AM[/editline] And thanks for anyone who have posted content on this thread
I loved the first driver. I remember making a shit ton of movies in director mode. I'd get a few cops on my ass then I would practice driving the same few routes over and over on each map til I got it perfect (running over boxes and gettin some air, drifting, driving as close as I could to cars and shit as possible without hitting them etc.) Then I would mess with director mode for an hour or so after the drive. Fun times.
I see that there is this on the Driver teaser site: So, can we assume that there will be no guns and no running people over?
I know plenty of 12+ Rated games that allow guns and violence in, but don't have much gore or swearing in.
Driver isn't much in the categories of gore and swearing. I heard "damn", "shit", "hell" and "ass" a few times in Driver 3. That was about it.
I shed tears of pure nostalgia and memories of happy childhood when I read this thread. Thank you OP
No problem. I had that same exact feeling when I found my copy for the PSX two weeks ago.

I did like the boats in Driver 3, unlike TK's crippling disease of water that makes him teleport out without his car.
I did like the boats in Driver 3, unlike TK's crippling disease of water that makes him teleport out without his car.
I'm assuming TK is the main character in Parallel Lines? I only rented PL, never bought it.
I remember the smell of GBC and GBA games too. It's weird. But really, you expected a GBA game to be like a console game?
I had zero knowledge. I didn't even had a PC back then.
Fucking this. I had to get some 26 year old person to do it for me. Then I finally got to play the game! :buddy: Did anyone find it awesome to drive back and forth over this small bridge that worked like a ramp?
Oh god i just nostalgiad, i remember sitting with a friend in free mode pulling jumps off the bridge. Tried Driver 2, but I got stuck on an early mission where you have to follow a train [editline]06:34PM[/editline] Of course, all this was when I was like 8 so
Same, I just went on freeroam all the time though [editline]03:06PM[/editline] In driver 2 the shadow shown a gun but he never had a gun [editline]03:08PM[/editline]
for its time, driv3r wasnt bad, but looking back at it now, after were used to 360's and PS3's, Sure it looks crap lol :P
Doesn't change the fact that it's fun as hell. If next gen consoles mean that you no longer like classics than personally I don't think that gaming is for you.
dont get me wrong i liked driv3r, im just saying that it seems like people are comparing it to the games of now, i think my original post came across the wrong way,
Driver 3 was one of my favorites. If it's going to be Driver: San Fransisco I'll have to buy it and then compare it to the actual city when I go this August.
The only reason I played Driver 3 was for the hilarious bugs and running over people in the malls.

Driver: San Francisco will be available on: PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii. There will be a collector's edition, as seen in the first link. You will be able to play the game with a cockpit view. Tanner and Jericho return. Tanner had a serious accident and is in a coma. As a result, he has a special ability to instantly Shift from vehicle to vehicle.
