Holy shit this is what I have been waiting for for so long with this game. YES.
YESH, Been waiting for this along time
I have a feeling that they're doing this to try to compete with Planetside 2 in some way.
Will definitly try this out now. Is there actual 1k vs 1k battles ?!
now i can finally play this game without interruption or without worrying about payment much love
I wish there was a torrent for the installer, downloading it from their site is so slow.
Awwwwwwwwwww yiss. Motha fuckin F2P http://www.battlegroundeurope.com/index.php/component/content/article/25-promotions-a-offers/12110-replacing-free-trial-with-free-to-play I can't believe this shit :bees:
The mother of all bumps.
When is it going F2P?
Now
Will free players be limited to Infantry only?
Holy fuck I just saw this thread thinking "damn I always wanted to try it" and the first post I see is that it's F2P fuck yes
This will be a great time waster until I get invited to the PS2 beta.
Man, this game. So hard to get into. :|
Will free players be limited to Infantry only?
They are kind of vague with the limitation but jesus I want to fly planes and stuff too
God this game is hard as FUCK, yet highly entertaining.
Oh man, the nostalgia. I used to play this game a bit and I got somewhat good at it. I used to do a lot of dive bombing and tank battles, but the thing I got best at was actually playing AA guns, especially the Bofors. The last time I played, I just murdered airplanes en masse. Also German team for Glorious Victory! BTW, what are the F2P limitations?
While multi-crewing a Stug III with a friend on Skype, we managed to take down a few enemy tanks, but then we got ganked by a group of atleast 7 players... All armed with ATR.
Fucking love being air support here, and the dogfights are as intense as IL-2
I think dogfighting is the hardest part of this game. The pilots that are still playing this game after a decade or so simply murder everyone on sight through sheer skill and knowledge of previous dogfights. In all my time flying airplanes, all I have ever gotten is two-three kills on other planes while in a plane myself, and one of those cases was with a lucky tailgunner shot hitting the enemy pilot right in the head. Most dogfights I enter, I engage and spray some MG-fire at their planes and hit a few times, then I get a plane behind me and immediately get ripped apart by cannon fire, as Axis pilots are almost always outnumbered. I do on the other hand find strafing troops and bombing bases much more exiting, the only problem is, as a german only player, there are always many more allied aircraft in the air at any time, so getting away alive is really difficult.
So wait is the F2P thing on already?
Sweet, a reason to play WW2 Online :v:
Installed, started it, finished training, tried to play, died multiple times, boring as fuck, exit, uninstall. GG
The game can be quite hard to get into because the community is skilled as fuck, so people that aren't used to realistic games get put off because they don't even know the direction they were killed from. Well, at least they have training missions to get people started now, before it was even harder.
This game was fun for a little bit but the monthly fee is ridiculous. The graphics look like a fucking nintendo or something. They say they have "massive" battles when I have seen maybe more than 50 at one town. This game isn't worth the money.
Weakling.
Yeah, I'm a weakling because I gave up on a game that only lets me play as a rifleman and every town I spawned on to defend was encircled by enemy tanks that kept shooting me in the face. The game looks like ass too.

This isn't a normal shooting game, you don't just run into battle expecting to get killstreaks. [editline]4th August 2012[/editline]
Well, thank god for Planetside 2.
I don't understand the comparisons to Planetside 2. It's Apples and Oranges. I was talking to a dev earlier and he even said, they're not looking to compete with Planetside 2 (which is obvious since it would stand zero chance), they just want to see their game and it's strong veteran company thrive again.
For Axis Players everywhere: Fuck French Snipers.
