Set flaps down.
Start engine.
Set RPM to Max.
Set WEP to On.
Hold Z and X (wheel brakes)
Set throttle on 85%+ so that it starts to move even as you're holding the brakes.
Release Z and X.
Turning left or right? Tap either X or Z to fix it.
Set throttle to full power, but beware so that you don't crash into the grass.
Lift gently.
Wing rolling towards left or right? Compensate the motion by rolling against it, slowly!
Raise wheel.
Raise flaps.
Turn off WEP.
Set RPM to whatever you want.
Lol what?
I set RPM to max, throttle full, take off.
You never need to worry about anything else.
That's how I do it :v:

Wiki is useless don't believe its lies.
No tips in this game
Everything you learn comes from experience in this.
Played for 5 years on and off you just get to know and do things
Tell me all your dog fighting secrets. Seriously, I black out 50% of the time because I panic when damn Spitfires come behind my ass.
Also, I know every country has huge destroyer ship in the game. But has there actually been any naval warfare going on, or are they just support when capturing coastal towns?
Might try the trial sometime, hoping F2P comes soon, I'll definitely play with you guys :v:
It feels strange that the Spitfire is unavailable to me. I was so used to it being the new player's first plane in IL-2.

They are used for spawn camping... Naval Combat rarely happens.
"World War II Online was re-released in 2006 under the new name of World War II Online: Battleground Europe."
Re-released with minimal graphical update.
I'm no graphics elitist but there's a problem with a monthly fee for a game that looks like it was made for Windows 95.
Graphics aside, the idea seems really cool. Source-style graphics would fit it pretty well.
So I got to do my first paradrop today

Yo, Swebonny, add me on steam. Let's be each-other's crew on planes, tanks and shit. Teamspeak/Mumble a plus thought I don't have a mic.
You up for some Stukin' today?
I've been finding it really hard to get a crew together for a bomber, also lacking any idea of what to do.

The Germans occassionally do beach invasions of the British town of Ramsgate.
I flew spitfire missions strafing a fleet of transport ships and destroyers ready to invade, once.

No love for the Kriegsmarine.
Naval combat's really fun when you get a bunch of destroyers going at it with each other.

it was re-released because it had a different name that ran into copyright problems. if you're no graphics elitist then you should really have no problem with this games graphics because they really don't look that bad
Probably. This game is very outdated and very unoptimized. I think they added multi core support like 2 years ago for the first time.
Forgot to reply back, it did not help at all. Any other ideas?

Well, around 500 players these days (1-3 years ago), but don't take that as a negative. Back in the days the average ping was 200-300 in huge battles (which were almost constant). Now it's around 170'ish.
They should put a bit more effort advertising their game. You can only find it if you look for it (and see threads like these on forums9
I just remembered a bunch of adventures I had last time I played, im sittibg here at work with a smile on my face from all these memories.
Should I post em?

The installer is downloading now, I'm starting my 14 day free trial.
[editline]8th August 2012[/editline]
I'll go Kriegsmarine, I come from a Naval-Oriented family and the U-Boats murdered the fuck out of the allies in the early years.
[editline]8th August 2012[/editline]
And final thing about F2P and then I'll shut up.
If it's Free to Play, and you don't go premium, you are restricted to very few things. Correct?
My friend got his first kill, a 109 chasing us got a bit cocky and ended up getting hit by the rear gunner. I don't think that counts as a kill for me though.
Back, i have it all installed and ready to go! Woo!.
Now story time children. First one was when i was on the British side. Had about 3 weeks of experience. Germans were advancing from the East on one of the towns near the bottom of the map, and we were trying our best to hold out. I grabbed my rifleman gear and headed out of the town, towards the outskirts.
Here i can see a them far in the distance, advanced from their FOB. I decided to be sneaky and i went northeast, into one of the little forests. I waited there for about 30 min, when the Germans got really close. As im waiting, I see one of them walking towards to forest, a little rifleman. I line up the shot, fire, and down he goes. Now here i sprint towards some tall grass in hopes that if anybody heard the shot, they wont see me in the forest. 5 minutes later i hear tanks near me. Behold, 2 Panzers are literally advancing towards me, i double back as fast as i could into the tall grass. They pass by me, with maybe meters to spare. How they didnt see me, i dont know, i had the luck of the British or something, i was prone as well. I start moving out, crawling hoping they dont turn around, when an SKD251, or those personal carriers comes by. It sees me, and i get up and run to the left, and i hear 2 rifleman disembark. I do a huge arc, so now im behind them, maybe 50 meters away. I fire 2 shots, they both go down. Then suddenly, another Personal Carrier goes by, and it gets me. Im still surprised i got that far.
My second adventure revolves with the paratroopers. Playing on the british side again, i randomly joined a clan and they wanted to do a para mission to one of the small depots or whatever they were called, FOBS? Anyway, we up in a C-47, I think there were 9 or 10 of us. around 25 minutes later we arrive at our target, and we drop. We all survive and as we're busy blowing up the base, we see our buddy land the C-47 in the field across from the base. We had the last vehicle tent to blow up, when a fucking Panzer spawned. You can guess what happened from there.

I got my ass rammed by spitfire when he came in too fast and blew up while I only lost my rudder :v:
Had to bail out when my plane stalled and I couldn't pull out of it tho
F2P Accounts are online!
As you are all no doubt aware, we announced that we were going to replace our free trial promotion which was never working as well as we'd have liked at getting new accounts into the playerbase, and rolling that change into our desire to offer the ability to play WWIIOL:Battleground Europe for FREE.
Well that day has come! As I write, free accounts are now able to be created and played on the live server. Equipment choices are limited and a premium account cannot be downgraded to a free account. The general rule of thumb is that the equipment a free account user can access is lower down the scale to encourage them to get a paid account in order to get the "good stuff" you all want. As the campaign progresses the quality of equipment a free account can access does improve, but they can never access the latest or best gear.
We hope there are no big issues or hiccups (well d'uh!) and will be watching for any should they occur. So far it's all looking very good.
Everyone have a great time and don't kill all the new dweebs too quickly ok !
See you out there somewhere, in my gunsights!

Awesome, finally! :v:
[editline]9th August 2012[/editline]
Annoying that they had to be vague about what the free play limitations are though.
Will I have to make a new account or will my current trial account be considered a F2P account?
Will I have to make a new account or will my current trial account be considered a F2P account?
New account from what they said, or I think it turns into a free one when your trial ends. It's a bit fussy.
