This game is the shit. Sucks my cousin stole the physical copy. He stole just about every fucking game we had and took them to Japan with him. Conksuck imigrant. Need to buy a copy from GoG. . . . .

I own a legitimite CD/DVD of this but it is very scratched and destroyed from being in a big box of games for so long. Is it illegal for me to torrent it? And will I be able to play MP?

Oh man I loved this game. Never beat the campaign though, I just went straight to multiplayer. I still have like 40 copies of this game, for when my dad had his lan center open. Best space simulator I've played

I never could get the hang of the controls in this game. First time I played, I nearly crashed into Manhattan.

Run in compatability mode and as administrator? Also we hosting a server?

Best space RPG ever, bar none. Starlancer, its prequel was fun arcade action though. I tried a BSG mod for Freelancer once... and regretted it. It was full of lunatics and morons which made my blood boil at every turn. I ended up in the major clan which had a iron grip over the colonials (aka, humans) who had this "war" (aka the biggest joke in history) with the major Cylon clan G41. Why was the "war" a joke? Because it was just daily pvp outside the human homeworld. About once a week someone would up the ante and park a battlestar, causing a mass flood of lag and capital ships, but the rules were awful. You weren`t allowed to shoot traders or blow the shit out of fighters with flak like i hear in Eve, and one day i made a decision which ended in me leaving the clan. I asked our leader if we would use some degree of tactics, and he just ignored me, even when i about 10 people to sign a petition saying otherwise. My reward? i got booted out of the clan. Thus, i started my own one. I got 5 members in a short space of time, and the moment i put a thread about the clan, i was flooded with crap. But, alas there was another reason why. I was flying with the leader of DSG and the leader of a clan called H.A.W.K and because i had never seen a repair gun before, so when the leader of DSG shot the leader of H.A.W.K i blew his sorry exscuse for a ship to smithereens. I had lots of cargo on board, and the leader of-actually, ill just refer to him by his name-Commander archer. Anyway, he wasn`t exactly pleased and he started firing at me with his flak cannons from the safety of his battleship whilst my fighter was repairing itself. Notice the sudden irony there? I ran away, and this started a massive flame war between DSG and me which i can sum up with the words-big bloody waste of time. In the thread, everyone lined up to take pot shots at me. It just went to show that it was a friendly, discriminating, elitist arena, and not a "war". Then my computer needed a re-boot. I never installed the mod again, and checking the forums- the mod`s pvp gameplay was destroyed by a decision to make it so that guns were fixed in a straight angle. I think i influenced a mass fallout. Ive checked the forum 5 times after that update 1)Commander archer deleted the mod because he went all conspiracy theory when the update brought in a anti cheat which scanned your system. (data folder- its just he took it as the system) and he left because the "community was crap" and "the update is a hack" 2)A month later, the leader of DSG betrayed his clan and joined an even more elitist clan called "FANG" which i hated just as much. Im convinced this was because i had pissed him off to the point where everyone in his clan hated him, and wanted him out. 3)The leader of "FANG" -Shadow- left. He did this because Archer left, and because the leader of DSG had converted, so noone was left to rally DSG for pvp. 4)Same thing as above, but with more elitist players who i can`t care to mention= started a domino effect 5)Fang, G41, and several other clans died a slow, painful death due to all the elitists leaving.
