Discovery had about 100 players, and every other server was mostly coop with 1 or 2 people. I wouldn`t recommend installing just for the MP.

It's still broken, whether I skip the intro movies or not it still just stops. When I watch the movies the game just freezes up at a certain point and exits to desktop and when I skip it all it crashes to desktop after showing me the freelancer logo. I want to play this so much. :saddowns:

Is it me or does the installer picture show a Crusader landed on Planet Crete? I'd probably get killed long before I managed to get into the system in a low-level ship like that.

This game makes me wish X3 had multiplayer. Seriously when was the last time we saw the release of a space game with multiplayer like Freelancer that's not a fucking MMO?

The circus mod or whatever doesn't want to mount now in FLMM, it just keeps on getting an error, and so does every other mod that I tried :(

The best mod for Freelancer will in my opinion [i]always[/i] have been Khaos Prime. That is where I grew up in Freelancer. I had some [i]amazing[/i] adventures in their server. I led an Outcast pirate group, I was a major player in a Liberty defence force, I even piloted a rogue Liberty dreadnought.

Freelancer alpha one dash one, heh i still remember the register number.

My friend always wants to play Freelancer with me. I can't say I ever enjoyed it as much as he did, but it is definitely entertaining.

I hate all things 4chan but /v/lancer looks fucking AMAZING. Tempted to reinstall just for that now. I used to play on Discovery and Freelancer Combat Evolved quite a bit, lost my character for discovery because I didn't sign in for two weeks, and FLCE went under. Sad times.

Anyone got a mirror for /v/lancer?

I used to play this all the time, only single player though.

Is there still a lot of activity in the game? Like full 100+ servers?

The only server to my knowledge that has 100+ regularly is Discovery RP. But I also haven't played in well over a year so who knows!

Freelancer was FUCKING EPIC. I loved how you could kinda walk around planets and interact with NPCs, and the combat was pretty fun when you learned how to cut your engines. The sheer quantity of awesome ships and the amount of stuff you could do was incredible. If any decent programmer wants to try and make a remake but with more multiplayer focus, I'd happily model and texture for it as well as provide a lot of ideas. That'd be my dream come true, I think it'd be far more fun than EvE.
