It's a sniper. Your eye would be making full contact so your screen would essentially be filled anyway. I prefer Gnomus for dot sights and ACOG.

If, in real life, you made contact with the scope and then fired, you would poke your eye out.

took a break from CoP (Which I love, no matter how different it is) to play some good old SC 2009 and had one of my funnier experiences in SoC.
I started a new game, skipped to free play, and immediately did the mission for fanatic where you help defend the loner camp from the mercs. Everything was going great. I was sniping the mercs as they came down before they could get a shot off. Eventually, the mercs stopped coming, but the mission didn't register as being over. So after waiting about 10 minutes for another wave, I said fuck it and went on my way to the garbage...
But not far from the loner camp, at the abandoned bus camp, look who I found.

Not true, I have fired a Mosin Nagant and I was only about an inch maybe half away from making contact with the scope. Position yourself well enough to absorb the recoil and you'll be fine. In any case.. "Video Game".
