I really wanted to hate Mass Effect because the first part of the game (the only part I saw) looked really gay. Then I played the pc version and realised it was actually a decent game and went out and bought it, in fact I liked it that much I've preordered Mass Effect 2
inevitably, the Halo series. i actually do hate the multiplayer, and hate how simplistic and ridiculously comprehensible the stories are, but for whatever reason i love the singleplayer campaigns.

I'd have to say Crackdown. My friend always talked about how awesome it was, but I really didn't see it. After playing it though, I fell in love.

it gets boring over time, though.
good concept but personally i think it has to be one of the lamest platformers to ever come out. nothing you do in it is really rewarding.
