Being competitive in Australia is kinda hard with our shitty internet, so I'm gonna say casual.
Both, it truly depends on the game.
I enjoy a good game where i get it in me to kick everyone's ass. I also like the fact i have to do my best to keep in 1st. But i also enjoy a good causal game where i can sit back and enjoy the game for what it is and not have to worry about competing.
Casual all the way, don't care if I die or anything.
Casual. You shouldn't be taking games seriously.
I'm a competitive mother fucker
casual
I never take any games seriously.
Depends on the game for me.
If it's more fun to be on a team or clan then I guess I'm competitive. I was just playing League Of Legends (we were losing miserably and the worst player on the team was angry with me for not helping him or something) and I thought it would be more fun if I was on a team or a clan that knew what they were doing or could communicate better.
If it's something easy like CS:S or TF2 it's casual all the way baby.
Casual is like someone who plays bejewled or Wii or something. You are missing hardcore which is kind of in between the two.
When I see "casual" I think
Oh this game has puppies in it. And music. I bet a musical game would be fun
When I think "competitive" I think
Pubfags aren't fit to play online cuz :their: not pro enough
I don't want to be either of those people
I'm casually competitive.
if i go competitive i usually get distracted by some random can on the ground
If you mean competitive as in joining clans and having scrimmages and all that dumb MLG crap, then I am casual because quite simply many people take clans and stuff extremely seriously and for some reason think they are epic while running around saying "I'm MLG."
Seriously... if you are MLG you are not a good gamer, you are a massive tool
Edit: You will find the majority of Facepunch is casual because it is a laid back forum with people who generally just like chilling.
Casual. I play for fun, not score.
Neither I play games.
I'm not really sure, the only competitive game I play is HoN, where you can't really be casual, because if you're a casual DotA player, then you are probably a really bad DotA player as well.
I played competetive in SourceForts for four years, but I stopped. I've begun playing MW2 now, and I'd love to get competetive again.
Casual, and I REALLY SUCK :(
I play for fun rather than to win in online games (the winning is, however, a bonus), but I also dislike the type of "casual" game espoused by the wii. I get more entertainment out of playing a complex RPG game with a good plot than pretending to play tennis by swinging a white brick about. In short, neither really.
I'm casual but I play a lot and I like to win. I would never join any clan or tournament/league though.
I'd call that casual-competetive, and I'd call myself it too.
If there's a way for me to grief people, I do it.
Otherwise competetive.
Casually competitive; I like winning, and try to win, but I don't really care if I lose but it was a fun game, and hate just winning by a mile (especially when it was just other people on my team being good).

This until proven otherwise.
I rage at griefers.
I'm a competitive/casual gamer though, and when I rage I just swear loud enough for everyone to hear. I never hit my keyboard.
How about competitive without being in a clan?
I'm not good enough to be competitive, nor do I care enough to be.
I do rage sometimes when I get killed, but I guess that's almost everyone.
Sometimes it's frustrating and seems unfair when you get killed but if you rage you're getting too bothered.
Well although i'm not the kind to take a game seriously i really hate the so called "casual" market.
You know, games to play with your nan.
But i also hate people who care more about their score than they do about weather or not they had fun/

Now that I think about it, I think casual was the wrong word, I more or less mean pubbers and "non-serious" gamers.
If i would die in game and rage, the reason would be that i have to wait for the respawn time(usually just when it's 12+ seconds in tf2, etc)
I'd say i'm casual.
I just play for fun and not to brag about my stats.
