If Notch added nomads that spawned in unison with yourself, whom would then start gathering resources and building primitive cities, holy shit I would be satisfied for months.
Probably more animals.
The world feels so empty as of now

God we need horses. It will let us move much more faster and have another "friend".

I seriously want new blocks.
Blocks are cools.
I would take bugfixes over new mobs/blocks/acheivements anyday.
More mobs and blocks. Fixes would be also nice.
everything in that list.
but that's just what I want.
Maybe something like gasses, they would be quite hard to see, and "flow" upwards (from new liquids/lava or anything maybe). They will dissapear once in a large space, and you would be required to wear special masks to stay in them for a long time unharmed (same for standing near lava because the heat, but then required a complete suit)

Explosive gasses would ignite by torches, causing some kinds of flames to fill the area for a few minutes.
I really want them to add humans that build stuff like that other guy said.

I agree mostly with this, but what about a blunderbuss or something? So its a really powerful gun but the ammo would be very expensive and it wouldn't be that accurate.
I would quite like a random weather system as well as snowing back in the snow biomes, also would like an official fix to the grass side especially as there a mod out there for it now

I want weather. Rain and snow and shit. With rain, it would raise the sea level and fill holes with water and shit. That way you couldn't build your base in a random fricken hole or something.
Plus more multiplayer options. The IP address thing is shit. I mean really, how hard is it to add a "Favorite" list?

Only the bad ones do. There are a good number of high-quality mods.

But mostly id like to see some traces of other people, be it ruined/abandoned towns or thriving communities with npcs.

I think Notch was planning to make where the nearest bed is your spawn eventually.
