Unfortunately you are correct.
This is the way it is.
The rest of the world does not see video games as we do. They can be brought off by A SINGLE NEW FEATURE!
No amount of whining can make people know as much about what a video game's worth as we do.
There are only two solutions.
1: Every one of us becomes a primary school teacher and moulds children into this field and an early age. We will end up with an entire genertion who's social merit will not be based on how fast they can run or how accurately they can kick a ball, but by their academic skill and digital mastery. This would fast-track humanity into a new age of prosperity.
2: Idiot cull 2000.
or 2010 if you prefer.
The end result is a generation of computer literate people who will judge a game on it's quality of content and things like re playability, storyline (and length), value for money and intuitiveness. Not on graphics (although we will praise them for a good game with good graphics) and a new feature like being able to have a photo of yourself on a poster in the game.
here's hoping the ADHD generation dies out this generation.

Now it's about grit and realism, as well as gunning people down. It works solely because most people now-days play games with other people. What would they rather do; both interact with limited possibilities or shoot each other?
Same reason why Guitar Hero's such a hit - you get to play with more than one person. That's what games are about any more.

no, in fact I think the whole fucking modern warfare series should fucking DIE. I'm goddamn sick of it. I bought modern warfare 2 a few days after it came out, played it for about a week, never finished the story, played a little multiplayer, and I haven't touched it again, mostly because I was sitting there playing and thinking "wow! this is the SAME SHIT I PLAYED BEFORE" so no, NOBODY should make modern warfare 3.

If this were ANY OTHER game series we would not be considering a sequel yet.
Heck we would not even be considering DLC any time soon. (unless it's borderlands but i liked Zombie island)
