Try to join the server without it, I think it actually only is the server that needs to replace the file.

Well, making skins should be easy, cause every single texture for the game is a simple .png and all textures are stored in "C:\Program Files\MIT Media Lab\theRestaurant\restaurant\data"

Damnit, I can't join any servers now, if I try to join trough the browser, nothing happens and if I do that connect thing and then write the IP, the game just starts up with the menu open at the beggining, but nothing happens.

Just looking through the stuff now, you can edit the skins by going into restaurant/data/shapes/player or waitress, I think.
