All of the names related to the cremator are fire related yet it sprayed acid. :psyduck:.
Let's just name it "Desintegrator", then.
The Ichthyosaur has AI to eat people, therefore the Ichthyosaur has adapted to walk on land and ate the bodies, case closed.
The Ichthyosaur has AI to eat people, therefore the Ichthyosaur has adapted to walk on land and ate the bodies, case closed.
I wouldn't want to meet him on the land anytime soon. :ohdear:
Straight from RtB: [img_thumb]http://gyazo.com/6df65be81dbbae292bd144b50c0ef169.png[/img_thumb] Spray hose and Dissolving. It's acid, not fire.

But if you use the immolator in the hl2 beta it actually isn't a flamethrower.
Clearly it has something to do with burning as the sound files for the immolator (and the name) clearly states a form of burning. Plastma_burn and Plastma_ignite, so it is some sort of plastma acid that burns :downs:
Ever heard of acid burn. There's more than one kind of 'burn' in the world.
That was a fucked up good read.
as for the burned bodies in the canals being the cremator's work: don't you think eli would have known what cremators were? He said "we still don't know what that does, alyx brings in the strangest things," so he obviously doesn't know what it is. If they were in the canals as often as those bodies, they'd be hard to miss - especially considering that eli and kleiner have been in the resistance since the beginning.

The resistance is definitely not that great especially considering the Combine were basically letting it live on until Freeman came around. If anyone's met or seen a cremator, what with the abundance of burnt corpses, they likely were captured or killed before they could get the info out. If cremators still exist of course (I think the helmet in Eli's lab is just an easter egg, but who knows for sure).
Ever heard of acid burn. There's more than one kind of 'burn' in the world.
What about the ignite then? i havn't herd of any acid igniting before.
Listen to plasma_stop, it's the sound of liquid splashing. I haven't heard of any fire splashing before.
If it was to optimize then I think they would have removed the body from the watchtower earlier on the road also. [img_thumb]http://dl.redcityreloaded.com/files/1/public/ep2_outland_06a0000.jpg[/img_thumb]
woah woah woah what the fuck I've played through episode 2 5 times and I've never noticed this before :v:
Listen to plasma_stop, it's the sound of liquid splashing.
Plasma is an extremely hot gas (The type of gas effects color) an example is Neon lights. In short its probably some form of Plasma laser and burns (effectively melts / incinerates) the bodies.
Was that in a pivital battle scene with shit loads of guys? Nope, no need for optimisation.
Actually, it was about 20 feet away from the battle scene ... so yea they WOULD remove it to optimize.
The Ichthyosaur has AI to eat people, therefore the Ichthyosaur has adapted to walk on land and ate the bodies, case closed.
Don't the original half life ichthyosaur have some (sort of) AI to walk in land? Well not exactly walk but i recall it seizuring around in a somewhat efficient pattern to move. They used to be scarier like that than they were in the water :ohdear: Edit: Ok maybe not exactly efficiently Imagine that chasing you down in a dark street, it would be terrifying.
I thought the cremator gun shot fire with its primary and sprayed acid with the secondary?
I thought the cremator gun shot fire with its primary and sprayed acid with the secondary?
About accurate. The secondary fire sprayed combustible fluid of some sort that, when used in tandem with the primary flamethrower function, would emit a quick burst of flame, igniting all enemies close by. Or something like that.
:golfclap: I applaud the creative and ingenious minds that are the facepunch HL2 fandom. You've all got a lot of cool insight.
Has anybody emailed Gabe with a question about the missing bodies?
He'd probably just give some really smart-ass but really funny replies.
He'd probably just give some really smart-ass but really funny replies.
depends how hurt he feels from the fat jokes

Or something like that.
That's not in the leak or anywhere else, don't make stuff up. I posted an image straight from Raising the Bar earlier that clearly stated it's a spray gun and it dissolves organic matter, fire does not do that. Despite the names "Cremator" and "Immolator" there is nothing fire related about it.
Why is it called a cremator then
Because Valve.
Simply put, when your turned into ash by someone, you are cremated, hence the name, because of Valve, but when you were burnt to death from someone incinerating you on a build server that did not restrict the ignite tool, you have been bagged by ^3Tripsd, of course I probably will get turned to ash in game later because I mentioned that. This is why I really wish when the prototype fire extinguisher was developed, they could of released it with both HL2 and Gmod, and allowed you to aim it at yourself, so you could put out the flame burning your body, which was ignited by the other players, who had the hots for you.

[editline]penis[/editline] Just kidding i didn't get any of that.
I hope they add some of the cut monsters into Episode 3. I mean, except for the one that jumps on you and rapes you.
I hope they add some of the cut monsters into Episode 3. Consider this though, would you rather be raped by Alyx or Mr. Friendly, think about that, I would of posted the YT link, with the shocking video that she's animated to undress and thrust over first person, but I don't want to risk getting in trouble here, you really want to look up user pRISCant for that mod. Otherwise, here is a video of the Hydra caressively singing "Oh Yeah", as its all over Alyx.
Hydra tentacle porn. :q:
Someone post the really creepy picture with the little kids making Cremator heads in a factory.

AHEM You will see charred bodies in the route-kanal chapter of hl2 sitting in piles of ash. I don't think bodies do that on their own. And also:
