You will see charred bodies in the route-kanal chapter of hl2 sitting in piles of ash.
I don't think bodies do that on their own.
And also:

That could be an easter egg for all we know. It (The cremator) is never mentioned ingame and you'd think they'd be a common sight in City 17.

Well true, but it's still cool.
depends how hurt he feels from the fat jokes
He ate them.(Dead bodies)

But Eli even mentions it, and there are scans of it on the computer.
Besides, Cremators were in City 17 in the pre-release story, maybe that aren't there in the post-release story. Maybe they clean Combine Bases? Or maybe they're used in other cities?
It's just an easter egg, it's the only time it's mentioned or seen in the game, and it doesn't matter if they "were" in the city because it is now destroyed and STILL has had no appearance or mention other than in Eli's lab, which also got destroyed. Saying that it might even have the possibility of being in the current universe having any significant presence (if any at all) is just wishful thinking.

The hunter-chopper only fires rockets once in game, and it's easy to miss and isn't seen or mentioned again. Does that mean it's an easter egg?
Hunters a also missing from the city despite being mentioned as being in the city during EP2.

What the hell are you talking about? The Hunter-Chopper is an actual enemy. And what about the Hunters? They're practically a regular enemy in EP2.
One time back in the city I saw a guy take down a hunter with his bare fists
There are no hunters in city 17.
it's like father grigori
you see him and then he's gone forever and you will never see him anymore anywhere ever because he wasn't supposed to come back and you were supposed to draw your own conclusions about what happened to him
[sp]built a trapdoor in the cemetary room - climbed inside coffin and pressed a button - descended into mines which have been cleared by you by the time he goes down[/sp]
i mean that just sounds exactly like something he would do
[editline]23rd March 2011[/editline]
this is not a serious theory

I prefer to think he went out like a true hero, [sp]battling dozens of zombies by himself, surrounded by a ring of fire.[/sp] :3:
There are no hunters in city 17.
In EP1 there was .... ( I mean not fight able but you do see them)
I've just emailed Gabe about it. Let's wait.
Im pretty sure that bodies fade over time, but only ones that you killed.
probably a glitch
That's in nearly every game. It's not a glitch, it's optimization. :v:
[del]
what the hell are you even talking about
Dr. Mossman's transmission in which the base she is in is attacked by Combine soldiers and "mini striders".[/del]

You've misunderstood what i meant. He said the creamator head in eli's lab was an easter egg because it is only seen once, never mentioned again and is never seen in the city. It is the same thing with the Hunter-chopper firing rockets.
Yes, hunter are a regular enemy in EP2, but they are never seen until then.
thats not city 17, how is this even relevant to the discussion
Exactly its not in City 17.
The hunter-chopper only fires rockets once in game, and it's easy to miss and isn't seen or mentioned again. Does that mean it's an easter egg?

That's a terrible example. A better one would be the Crabsynth or Mortarsynth being seen once, but never fought or talked about.

I forgot about those, thanks. Those are much better examples. But still, all these things are only seen once and never talked about or mentioned, but are still there.
If Valve decides to bring them back in the next Episode, they have those excuses brought up in this very thread to explain their existence. If they don't, whatever.
The Cremator isn't in any of the Half-Life 2 titles, and its unlikely it will be. What you're seeing is the ragdolls being removed by a trigger, and nothing more. E-mailing Gabe about this is just a waste of your, and his time.

email gabe about mysterious game feature
=
what you're obviously just wasting his time how dare you do that you have no right to ask questions about something nobody understands in a game rage rage rage
Exactly its not in City 17.
What are you talking about? I used to kill 10, even twenty a day back in City 17!
What are you talking about? I used to kill 10, even twenty a day back in City 17!
The guy at the White Forest base is lying anyway about using his bare hands and the AR3, it's quite obvious that he's also lying about Hunters in the City.

You're telling me the average person can't punch a machine/lifeform hybrid killing machine to death?
That kind of sucks.
The guy at the White Forest base is lying anyway about using his bare hands and the AR3, it's quite obvious that he's also lying about Hunters in the City.
You wouldn't survive on the streets of city 17. He, would.

Love the fact you can't take a joke.

Good thing I'm in England where City 17 is not.
