Even if this theory is wrong, I think it's still pretty cool. With the level of detail and hints Valve likes to put in their games, the line between interpretation and over-interpretation can be think sometimes. I for one want to believe. It adds another level of immersion for me.
I also like the "Combine Soldiers have their brains in their chests" theory, as unlikely as it is.

Like I said, if I REALLY wanted to support the theory. I think it's very interesting to speculate about this stuff even if it isn't true. It's fun.

Thats if your city decided to give up easily and not put up a huge fight. In that case they likely have some sort of dark matter bomb that leaves literally nothing left.

We don't know for sure but the theory I hear most is that the weapon it has would be attached to the "pokeball" and that it contains the acid it shoots.
But since Valve has most likely scrapped the Cremator we might never know.

It should be said however that Valve already confirmed the fact that these two were used by the Combine. They said that the Crab Synth and Mortar Synth were the backbone of the Combine's invasion force or something along those lines.
