2 words = Mass Effect 2 :)
... Well shit. Not buying it.
What sucks most about this? It's not going to prevent piracy.
You people are overreacting.
You people are overreacting.
I'm not supporting a game that has both SecuROM and GWFL. I don't care that my decision is not gonna have any effect on theirs, because it won't stop piracy anyway. Also a man's gotta have standards.
Boo hoo.
You people are overreacting.
sorry, i don't like rootkits on my pc to play a game that i legally bought. i should be able to play a game without my pc being scanned for software that they don't like.
i can't install GFWL [editline]06:24AM[/editline]
sorry, i don't like rootkits on my pc to play a game that i legally bought. i should be able to play a game without my pc being scanned for software that they don't like.
developers should really get this shit in their skull. no matter what the fuck you do to stop pirates cracking your game, they'll still crack it. look at GTA IV. they wasted 1 million dollars for some SecuROM bullshit and it still got cracked after 3 or 2 days.
sorry, i don't like rootkits on my pc to play a game that i legally bought. i should be able to play a game without my pc being scanned for software that they don't like.
I've never EVER had a problem with any DRM of any kind. CD-keys piss me off more than DRM.
I've never EVER had a problem with any DRM of any kind. [editline]01:26AM[/editline] But, really, it's not that big of a deal. But it still is useless and they shouldn't be doing it.

This is why Piracy exists IMO and why it has the exact opposite effect of countering it... They have officially made it less of a headache, less of a pain in the ass, and more accessible to just pirate the game... Why make your legit customers jump through so many hoops to play the game? It's getting to the point now that Pirating a game is the better option. I'd have no issue buying a game for $60 but I'd like to Buy the game for $60. Not install limits, Rootkits, Forced to be online to verify, forced to use GFWL to get more out of it than to not use GFWL... Either let Steam be your only Anti Piracy tactic, or don't attempt any of the bullshit to begin with, End of Discussion Game Devs Sins of a Solar Empire is just simple Install and Play, and its done very well. Sure pirates can pirate it easier, but then there's never been a game that they haven't been able to pirate either, has there, and Sins isn't making its legit customers jump through any god damn hoops either, and for that, I like Ironclad Hell I bought Chaos Theory when it was first released for $50, but only installed it once. I bought it on Steam for 10 bucks again, just so I wouldn't have to deal with Bullshit Starforce. Oh but Talon, the more recent patches remove it. Yeah well you can't install the patches until you install the fuckin' game first
I've never EVER had a problem with any DRM of any kind. CD-keys piss me off more than DRM.
DRM's don't work. they are waste of space. they're useless. you buy them, you support them.
DRM's don't work. they are waste of space. they're useless. you buy them, you support them.
No, I buy them because I want to play the game. I don't give a shit about anything else.
This stuff usually doesn't bother me that much, but this is a little overkill. At least Mass Effect 2 will be reasonable as was Dragon Age
How do developers not realize that this isn't going to stop piracy, but just increase it? I'll probably buy this after they realize the shitstorm they've stirred up.
it's not the devs, it's the fucking producers who don't know shit about how these things work.
I had the first one on my xbox, might as well get the second one for xbox. No wait I just remembered my friend is getting it for me for my birthday and he wouldn't even consider PC, he'd go straight for Xbox, so I have nothing to worry about.
Cycle goes like this. An sequel to an good game is coming out. It gets hyped. Game has crazy ass DRM, install limits and online activations etc. PC users are unhappy and get it on consoles or warez it. PC profits go down a lot. The funny thing is the DRM will probably get cracked in the first days.
Goddamn I fucking despise GFWL.
Even with this shit, 80% it will be on the top 100 on piratebay
Also, the install limit has been lowered to 5.
What a bunch of fucking retards. Shove this game up your ass, take2. lol, at least the community takes it not too seriously.
Is a man not entitled to game that he paid for? No, says SecuRom, it belongs to the publisher. No, says Steam, it belongs to the internet. No, says Live, it belongs to everyone. I rejected those answers, I chose something different. I chose the impossible...I chose PirateBay!
I was gonna make a megathread for Bioshock 2 but now everyone's not gonna buy it. :sigh:
I was gonna make a megathread for Bioshock 2 but now everyone's not gonna buy it. :sigh:
$50 says 95% of the people who bitched in this thread will buy the game anyway.

This sounds like a great reason to pirate it.
http://forums.2kgames.com/forums/showpost.php?p=597096&postcount=1 Dunno if already posted.
SecuRom is only used in the retail version? That's great, but I'm not paying an extra 15$ to get the Steam version instead.
$50 says 95% of the people who bitched in this thread will buy the game anyway.
I won't, thank god. I didn't even like the first one.
I've never had any problems with DRM or secuROM, and I have GFWL anyway because of Fallout 3 and Dawn of War II No problems for me, I guess
I guess i won't buy this game then. And I was looking forward to it..
Oh my gosh! People will never be able to pirate this now! [/sarc] ... Really, what the fuck. Do they actually think this will stop people from pirating it? There's not been a game yet where the piracy protection has actually worked.
