They didn't specify whether they would release it for this gen or the next when the question was asked. I'm really hoping it comes out as an early title for the next gen and the graphics can really shine.

I can wait for 2014.
That would actually make a shocking amount of sense given that the demo was running on a PC, which only got a DS release because of fans. They get to please the fans and hide whatever next-gen console it's being made for at the same time.
Am I the only one that feels a little bad when I kill the Moonlight Butterfly? I think it's the music and how majestic it looks as you fight it, can't help but feel a little pang when I see it die

I just summon Witch Beatrice.
No joke, she kills it for you. The only NPC phantom that seems to do much other than eat attacks and die.

Of all the sad points in the game, I certainly did not feel bad when killing the butterfly. Maybe I don't appreciate beauty, or maybe it just pales in comparison to everything else.
Though I'm glad you can leave the ones in Crystal Cave alone. They ain't botherin' nobody.

I'm very poor at timing automerging.

Well, I kinda get the "beauty" of it persay. Most bosses are thrashing, stomping, spinning about chaotically, or they're otherwise mechanized and/or abominations of nature made only to hate and kill. The butterfly, however, just kind of flutters down and casually slips a bit of magic out. It's not even particularly aggressive, you're just kind of in the way of it.
It's quite a contrast, at least on a first playthrough, to the Gargoyles and Taurus Demon.
I don't feel that bad when I kill Sif, probably because it's a huge monster wolf with a massive sword. When he starts Limping I don't think "How sad", I think "Easy target"
Artorias, Gwyn, Gwyndolin, Priscilla for bosses. Solaire's end, sitting with Quelaag's sister, the abominations in Seath's lab, Rhea and Dusk encounters. Even Ash Lake and the Stone Dragon stirred more emotion than the Moonlight Butterfly fight.

Honestly it was all very atmospheric, but I never felt particularly emotional about any moments in the game. It's just not that kind of plot.
Ceaseless Discharge, amusing name aside, is rather sad though. Though I only really noticed that after hearing EpicNameBro talking about it.

what about tarkus?
it's hard to feel emotions for a giant magical bug that's trying to blast your face off with magic lasers
what about tarkus?
He can do alright! Never consistently though. Just a lucky few hits.

God dammit, he have two shotel-like weapons just like Lautrec, too.
What an asshole.
His shotels are pretty big, I wonder what will be the moveset.
[editline]15th December 2012[/editline]
I think they should be called "Anti-turtle"

Not cool m8.
I'm a bit uneasy about the mention of a tutorial that "restricts your options." DkS has a pretty clear progression through the 'tutorial' areas (Burg, Parish), but if you knew what you were doing you could land at Firelink and immediately hike into the Catacombs, New Londo, or Blighttown to grab sweet gear (if you can get to it without dying, that is). I hope you'll still be able to do things like that in DkSII.

Burg and the parish aren't tutorial areas. Only the Asylum is. That's what they're talking about when they say tutorial area.

That's even worse, though. Would you want to do a tutorial, every time you start the game, that's even longer than running though the Asylum?
They didn't say longer, they said easier to understand.
