So this game is pretty much "High risk High reward: The game"?
Not really, it's just a game that doesn't let you stroll through it without thinking, if you just try to go through it mashing buttons or something you wont get very far at all.
Is there like a lot of "bosses" and stuff that'll keep you busy for hours. Is there a lot of end game "high level" stuff? Or is there only PvPing at the end?
there's NG+ that makes it harder
There's a lot of bosses, and if you're playing your first time you'll probably spend a bit of time trying to kill them. The game loops to NG+ once you complete it so it never really ends - PvP is pretty much what most people do I'd imagine, I don't though. It's definitely been one of my best game purchases, I don't regret it.

The only boss that I genuinely thought wasn't fun was Bed of Chaos, and that barely counts as boss in my opinion.

There is some gear that's only available in areas closer to the end-game, notably the Black Knight set a short distance from the final boss. For the most part getting good gear is about sticking with a set of armor/weapon that fits what you want and upgrading the hell out of it. Starting gear generally won't carry you far, and is one of the few exceptions to this. Because of this, nearly any setup can be viable given the proper focus on skills and upgrading. Once you hit end-game you can just invade people or beat the boss and go into NG+. There's always the option of starting a new character too. With so many potential builds, expect to have a lot of characters.
This is the most ridiculous gfwl fix I've seen for Dark Souls. http://leviathyn.com/games-2/pc/2012/09/07/games-for-windows-live-not-working-for-dark-souls-or-fable-3-heres-a-fix/
Man, now I'm quite hyped. It's just that this game + a controller will rack up a nasty price, going to wait and see if it gets on sale in the coming weeks.
Oh great god, you just made this Finnish Marine a very very happy man.
Just let me know when you have a controller. Or if you want to give it a go with keyboard/mouse, which I don't recommend as I'm sure you have a lot to live for.
Pick up the controller and I'll take care of the game.
Bro of the year right here!

So the game isn't available in my region. Will I be able to play it if somebody from America buys me the game? It usually works but I've heard that it doesn't work with Dark Souls because of GWFL.

What region are you in?
It works as far as I know. I bought it for a guy who couldn't get it on steam and it worked, at least. What region are you in?
Europe Region 1 (or is it 2?), the one where the game isn't available on Steam.
Europe Region 1 (or is it 2?), the one where the game isn't available on Steam.
I THINK that's where the guy I know is. Add me on steam.
Europe Region 1 (or is it 2?), the one where the game isn't available on Steam.
Europe Region 2 doesn't have Dark Souls on steam.
Oh great god, you just made this Finnish Marine a very very happy man.
If you haven't gone to get one already and there's a Gamestop near you, see if they have one of their brand controllers. It's what I use, and it was about ~$20 less than a new Microsoft controller. It works pretty good, and the only issues I've had with it are from nearly a year of use and abuse.
Thank you, dogmachines!
I'm worried new darksouls will be shit..
I'm worried new darksouls will be shit..
We just have to wait and see what happens. I'm kinda worried myself, but i can trust From Soft not to be twats.
I'm worried new darksouls will be shit..
Aren't we all, mate. Still I'm going into it optimistic. I'm not going to judge it based on Dark Souls for first impressions - if it doesn't live up to it's predecessor, I'm still going to enjoy it for what it's worth. And if it does, hey, all's well in my books. Either way it's inevitably going to be an above average game. Not putting all my eggs into one basket just because it's trying to live up to just how amazing Dark Souls I was to me.
