DSFix hud edits, unfortunately I forgot to enable the keybind to undo the changes so I couldn't tell how much health either of them had left at any time, making me shoot like 30 poison arrows just to be sure because the bar that was present wasn't moving.
Get some poise so you won't stagger if they hit you.

Try charging in. The Capra Demon will only use his jump attack when he's a fair distance away, so my strategy was Run at him, circle strafe, up stairs (Block the Capra Demon's normal attacks if you can't avoid them). Stab dogs, lure off stairs, plunge plunge plunge (if you can add charcoal pine resin to your plunge, do it).

Fuck Blighttown. I was on a [I]roll[/I]. Slaying guys left and right, dodging poison arrows while fighting skeletons, killed some giant squid thing.
Then some asshole club guy knocks me off the edge. Gah.
Any suggestions for close-combat with those guys? You can just lure the first 3 off the edge, but one came up behind me way further into the town. (On the upside, got the Shadow Armor and Eagle Shield)

They're not too difficult to parry, their timing is a bit strange.
Circle around for a backstab, etc.

Why don't you use Fire Tempest or Chaos Storm?
two reasons. one, i like having multiple spells, even if one is power within. I switch PW with Fire Surge frequently.

my new favorite thing to do is have a bow on my second right hand slot. pull it out, aim, and when they come in to smack you, hit Y quickly and then parry. they never expect it, it's awesome.

I am quite certain all three of those pyromancy spells have the same cast time though Chaos Storm does take two slots.

i got S&O down to one hit on my sl1 guy, ornstein tried to lightning spear me (projectile thing), i didn't dodge it because i forgot it's not physical damage and so it killed me through my shield

oh god the adrenaline i'm shaking
i haven't had this much fun with this game since like last november
the whole SL1 experience is as such
starts off like normal because you are that kind of player
then you get to anal rodeo (maybe even the golem or queelag (ha, fat chance on that)) and you get your butt wrecked a lot and it's fun and intense and you win finally and you are all fuck yes my pants need changing I am god
then you go to new londo and it's like "wait where did the challenge go"
then you go to lost izalith and you're all "yeah it isn't here"
etc etc
finally you get to gwyn and you ask yourself
why did I even bother moving on? why isn't O&S the final boss?
maybe so
still, though, it's the only way i can get a fun challenge out of pve so why not?
