Yay I finally beat the Bell Gargoyles and killed the Titanite Demon by the blacksmith, now what? Do I go into the forest area that is behind where the Titanite Demon was?

you can, but you don't have to
normally I don't like helping people other than boss fights but [sp]next up you are going to the Depths; the entrance to these is gotten by going back to the bridge with the dragon, unlocking the door with the key you should now have, heading down to lower undead burg, killing the capra demon and heading to everyone's FAVORITE zone. That's as far as I go.[/sp]
Have un-fun
You should have found a key called the Basement Key in the Undead Burg. Usually with keys you should read their item descriptions to know where they are used.
Wow, so I was just minding my own business, went to "2spooky4me" place (ToTG), Patches kicked me down as usual and then when I wanted to pick up a lantern suddenly someone attacked me from behind. And I was like "who the hell can attack me in this place?", I turned the camera and saw this.

It's a vagrant. It's a very rare creature.

They usually show up in the same spots, and give lots of loot. Go back and check that spot later, it's likely to be there.
Thanks guys, forgot about the keys. Next time I wont ask for help :v:

Also holy shit the [sp]Lordvessel[/sp] is huge. Haha I had no idea, I thought it was just a little orb. Then all of a sudden [sp]my PC is struggling to hold this giant bowl wider than his full armspan.[/sp]
Yeah. I always thought it was the size of an eating bowl. Then I saw that it was a giant stone thing. Which made me imagine how my character had that shoved up their ass the whole time (since that's how every character in every RPG ever holds all their items)
Quoting from another post, I'm hoping they make things more balanced in DS2. A lot of people really loved DS1's excruciating difficulty, and yeah I liked that it was a challenge, but most of the time it was only because enemies hit harder, even if it was unrealistic for them to do so, or could hit you from a long way away. I'm looking at the game from a playing perspective, not its whole "psychological life journey" thing people keep bringing up, and I think before, it was rightly difficult, but for the wrong reasons.
Instead of just making the enemies statistically tougher, it'd be great if they were instinctively, tactically tougher.

Well, I mean realistically, anyone with a weapon will be able to kill you. Dark Souls stuck with that in that damage is lethal. Some enemies are just more lethal than others.

Except Dark Souls made you feel inferior to enemies for a good portion of the time. Yeah, some were easy, or got easier, but it doesn't change the fact that you rarely went into a 1-on-1 battle feeling confident, regardless of how abysmal the enemy looked or how well-equipped you are. Enemies were designed to be statistically stronger, hence why Skeleton Warriors, physically weak, can inflict enormous damage on armored human warriors.

I just want it to have less giant difficulty spikes, and also for it to not drop massively in difficulty halfway through.
I want a smooth riding difficulty curve damnit.
the whole SL1 experience is as such
starts off like normal because you are that kind of player
then you get to anal rodeo (maybe even the golem or queelag (ha, fat chance on that)) and you get your butt wrecked a lot and it's fun and intense and you win finally and you are all fuck yes my pants need changing I am god
then you go to new londo and it's like "wait where did the challenge go"
then you go to lost izalith and you're all "yeah it isn't here"
etc etc
finally you get to gwyn and you ask yourself
why did I even bother moving on? why isn't O&S the final boss?
Strange that. On my first run, the game started off difficult and got easier. My SL1 run started off easy and got harder, including the bits after O&S.
Seath took many times because the first time I beat him, I just tanked him. Can't really do that SL1, so I actually had to learn patterns. Bed of Chaos was super frustrating because most of its abilities are one hit kills. Nito fucked me up because I didn't bring a divine weapon (once again, first time I tanked him so it wasn't necessary). Four Kings was just a lot of trial and error. And I thought Gwyn was the hardest boss in the game, I certainly died more times than any other boss.
I'm actually looking forward to the Bed of Chaos on my SL1 run. I don't know why, but the boss is just easy to deal with.
Watched a few episodes of Northernlion and wanted to check this game out on Steam..

So... why did I just download a 12.3 MB update?
So... why did I just download a 12.3 MB update?
Did it somehow auto verify game cache? I ain't getting any update.
Well, it modified a bunch of files I've never touched before, so I don't think so.
I just saw the weirdest glitch with the Darkroot Basin Hydra, after cutting off about half the heads, I ran out of estus and decided to run back to the nearby bonfire, but then when I came back, the heads I had previously cut off were still gone.
At first this was no big deal, just makes it easier right?
Well, after I cut off all the heads, it was still alive.
After that it just kept waving it's severed head stumps at me menacingly, and me, being a mostly melee character, had no real way to hurt it.
Unfortunately I didn't think to get a screenshot.
Small patch broke the game for me.
Ground swallows me whole prepare to die forever
I can't get anywhere. Anyone else getting this?
So how does this "Summon" system work?
you can only summon someone if you're human and you haven't beaten the area's boss yet
you can be summoned before or after you beat the boss, though
So... why did I just download a 12.3 MB update?
I think it's 1.07 patch where it fixed some texture bug in Oolacile. I never saw it myself.
Anyone else having trouble launching the game? I keep crashing on start up. It worked fine yesterday.
edit: ok so apparently DSfix is causing the crashes. Is this happening with anyone else?
I was gonna remake my sexy Tarkus build and maybe get some PvP going, might even gravelord some people. I've got two possible options, one using the Wolf ring

and the other with the FaP ring.

The wolf ring obviously gives plenty of poise, but the 600 extra HP seems better. Or maybe I should just up the level and go for some higher stuff.
So I grabbed the Edge magazine today (I work at Smiths so when it came in the news delivery in the morning I hid one behind the tills and threatened everyone under penalty of death to not sell it), and it seems quite interesting. They are trying to stay true to the series, From software just moved Hidetaka off the top of the development to give the series a new 'feel'.
It could be both good and bad, but seeing as he is still involved and overall they seem to know what they are doing I'm still extremely excited.
On another topic, the reason Dark Souls/Demon's Souls is so obscure is because he used to read "western fantasy" when he was younger but didn't have a large grasp of the language so he read it in portions and his imagination filled the rest. He enjoyed the air of interpretive lore and wanted to express that in the souls games. It worked :v:
I love interpretative lore.
