Or... use magic and turn your wacky armor into his armor.
solaire's equipment isnt magical
he's badass by default
Okay, started as a pyromancer- just beat the first boss, this game is pretty fun (although hard, still haven't gotten the hang of it.) Do you guys recommend hooking up a controller or not? I have one, and the PC controls are a bit unwieldy.

I highly recommend a controller, but as some members here would say, if all you have is KB+M, then that's perfectly fine.

Controller is a massive improvement.
Controller, definitely.
I got a controller just for this game :v:
Then I realized I can use it for gillion other purposes as well, pretty good investment if you ask me
still playing the game perfectly with a mouse and keyboard over here
Fighting Capra Demon, get him down to 2 more hits, blue screen :(
Yay I get to see twinks and hackers rage cause apparently the cheat engine broke with the new update :v:
these are truly the end-days we live in, where floating ghost heads roam the land spooking everyone's guts out

So I joined Solaire's covenant a little while after killing Tim & Eric. I want to go back and kick Sif's ass now that I'm overleveled, but the run to his door is impossible right now. The Forest Hunters consider me a traitor and when I chat with Alvina, she calls me a hellish villain and judges me no mercy from my former brethren.
So what, I request absolution? Or is it enough to just wear the ring? It seems on google that people were able to freely rejoin without absolving.
You have to absolve your sins with Oswald, otherwise the whole forest covenant is permanently aggroed against you. You could go through the back way to just avoid it altogether, but then you'd have to deal with ROLLCATS, and nobody should have to deal with them.
I'm picking this up tomorrow for the Ps3. Having never played demon or dark souls, is it easy to learn the basics?

kinda
it tells you most of the controls then leaves you

what it doesn't tell you is that you can escape some grabs by mashing the attack buttons
what it doesn't tell you is that you can escape some grabs by mashing the attack buttons
WHAT.
I didn't know this.
what it doesn't tell you is that you can escape some grabs by mashing the attack buttons
Is this for real, or is this one of those elevator-close-door-button things?
[editline]Edited:[/editline]
I certainly did it anyway, just like pressing the B button when capturing a pokemon, but if it helped, then fuck me.

You better be damn joking.
I have some bad news for you guys.

What grabs can be escaped then?
Shrubs? Gaping?

I think he means backstabs, but I'm not too sure.
What grabs can be escaped then?

Yes, shrubs and slimes at least. I never got grabbed by the gaping dragon.
All of them. Every immobilizing grab can be escaped in a hit or so less by just hitting the attack buttons, parries and backstabs nonwithstanding. (For some bosses like the gaping dragon and the centipede demon, they will probably do enough damage to kill you anyway, however)

How to you confuse grabs and backstabs?
