I don't get why people have so much trouble with the Anal Londo archers. They've never been a big deal for me.

Also the Taurus Demon is much easier as a regular melee fighter because of the drop attack. Just learn his moves, dodge him and smack his hand. Woodgrain can help to dodge. You dodge the attacks that leave him open and attack, just like a melee player. It's the same window for attacking. The thing that makes this easier for sorcerers at this point is that you have much higher single hit burst damage than a melee player and you don't have to get close to him and risk him retaliating. This also saves a significant amount of time between attacking and recovering.

On my pure sorcerer playthrough with close to maximum intelligence (almost 80 when I fought Artorias) and using Logan's Catalys to cast Crystal Soul Spear does about 1.5 of the damage from one swing with my Black Knight Sword +5 while two handing it on my warrior playthrough when I have roughly 40 strength and dexterity. And the Black Knight Sword is not even close to being the best weapon in the game, whereas Crystal Soul Spear is essentially the best spell for doing tons of damage to bosses. In my experience magic is only better because of what you said at the very end, you don't have to get close and risk getting smashed, although in the case of Artorias, being close is by no means a requirement to getting smashed.

I've found it's easier to take them out with low equipment burden and a fast/powerful weapon. My best run was Wanderer set, dark woodgrain ring, Quelaag's fury sword and 10 humanities. Took down each king in only a few hits and I could dodge all their attacks.

No guides necessary.
