I just killed an SL100 in NG+ on my SL20
Dark bead and pursuers isn't overpowered guys
I gave him a slab, that's way more important and helpful anyway.

I love when people try to take a sippy in the middle of a battle. It never ends well. And usually puts them in a worse position.

Better to Lloyd's Talisman them first.
Yeah, but sometimes I'd rather they take a drink. If I Lloyd's them, they'll (maybe) realize it and not bother trying. If they take a drink, I get a free backstab -> black flame.

I'm not saying no to a free 1k damage.

shit, anor londo's ACTIVE tonight. awesome.

I usually throw Lloyd's at them after I backstab them... which is usually while they're drinking. :v:

ROLL FORWARD
THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO COUNTERING DARK MAGIC
ROLL FORWARD
THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO COUNTERING DARK MAGIC
Not so easy when you're lagging out your ass.
I once was dueling someone who had a good connection, but when I walked backward a bit to let them heal they used soul arrow. I dodged it with plenty of room between me and the spell, but it still killed me.
Not so easy when you're lagging out your ass.
If I can fatroll past 7 casts at point blank when fighting an Australian so can you!
Roll forward works until I bait you into it, roll past you, and backstab you. :3
Roll forward works until I bait you into it, roll past you, and backstab you. :3
Anyone smart enough to roll forward will know how to counter backstab fishing.
I didn't say I'd fish for it. It's the same thing when people use the Silver Pendant. The wind-down from using it leaves you vulnerable enough. Same with rolling, especially if you fat roll.
You can argue all day about whether or not dark magic is OP or not, but at the end of the day it comes down to skill more than anything.

Its not op, the fat roll is an example, and who the fuck fat rolls beside specific builds.
BRO I WILL RATE YOU DUMB ALL DAY COME AT ME
BRO I WILL RATE YOU DUMB ALL DAY COME AT ME
Okay.
I'm AGREEING with you. It's not OP at all, but everyone's arguing that it is. You can argue that it's easy to counter or impossible to counter (you'd be wrong), but it's irrelevant anyway because it comes down to player skill, not how OP things are.
He asked for help getting to Seath. That's exactly what he got.
My job isn't to protect the host, it's to help him out. I showed him how to get there and held his hand every step of the way. Now it's his turn. That's how Dark Souls works.
Besides, there's no reason why I CAN'T be a dick while I'm a phantom.

this game has no rules
youre just pretending to be stupid right
Roll forward works until I bait you into it, roll past you, and backstab you. :3
if you can roll past me, from in front of me, and still roll behind me I'd be very surprised on how you rolled faster than a light roll
youre just pretending to be stupid right
You guys are overreacting. I'm not an asshole when people summon me, most of the time. But he asked me after I cheesed him with magic. When someone's an asshole why would you ask them for help?
Plus, a slab.
I have no idea where all this hate came from - at first I thought people just misunderstood Zin's post, but are you guys really so mad that he didn't stick around and kill Seath for that guy as well? Shall Zin just go ahead and beat the game for this guy while he's at it?
Jolly cooperation is a kindness, not a right.
That's what I've been saying. I'm not going to hold his hand, especially at a point post-Lordvessel.
[editline]16th November 2012[/editline]
Sure, it was a dick move to GUARANTEE his death, but it was hilarious and I play this game for the humor at this point.

Killing people you should be helping is not a kindness, it's rude and childish.
Instead of even putting down the summon sign, Zin could have just said "no, I don't want to help you", and that would have been fine.
Instead he did put down the sign, encouraging the other player (who was not good at the game) to think that Zin was a nice person doing a kind deed to someone who needed help.
I've helped people through multiple bosses that I've met through invading. They watched my playstyle, and I think they learned how to do a little better. It was all in good fun, and I felt good helping another player progress through the game and I was overjoyed at all the thanks I got from one guy I helped a long time ago on my Xbox.
It IS a kindness to help others.
It IS NOT a kindness to hinder another player.
(P.S. if he lost so many invasions, and was not as good as Zin had led us to believe, what good what a fucking slab do him? He probably has no clue what to do with it.)
man 2v1 invasions are the best
just invaded a guy named HumanCentiqueef, had a Havelbuddy. Ran away when they tried to corner me, lead them to the hallway with the giant sentinels, healed up (thank you humanity), ambushed them with a fun Ring of Fog Dark Bead to the face. Huehuehue.

I told him where to go, where the bonfires and secrets were (I even lead him to the Blue Slab, for the love of god), and told him how to kill Seath (crystal). I also told him what to do with the slab. I was MORE than helpful, I just didn't want to beat the game for him.
That's like yelling at a dad for taking the training wheels off his kid's bike.

This is the last I'm going to comment on this, it's dragged on for too long.
It's ok for the father to take the training wheels off when the child learns how to ride the bike, but it would be terrible for the father to teach the kid how to ride a bicycle, take off the training wheels, then push the child down a really steep slope.
How'd I push him down a slope?
You teach a kid to ride a bike, that kid's going to fall. Probably a lot. Does that mean he stops riding his bike? Not if he enjoys it. If he does, good, he's better off learning to do something he DOES like, like playing with dolls or an Easy Bake Oven.

phantoms are meant to help you fight through the level and ultimately help you defeat the boss
that's what co-operation means, the game encourages that goal
why don't you idiots get this it's not hard
I clicked this thread for Dark Souls, I got ethical debate.
That's kind of the point of dark souls, i think

I mean if you want to get deep into lore, it's hard to tell who's in the right, morally speaking. Frampt seems like he is, but Kaathe presents some EXCELLENT points.
And really, you're just a dude killing everything you can find because one depressed dude told you to. Eventually you start killing what are basically gods just because you can.
Wow this thread got shitty real quick.
Is there any weapon that has good parameter bonuses for strength and dexterity or is the best just C and C?
question if you ahve issues actually cooperating with the guy who summoned you why put a summon sign down??????

if anything has B in one area its going to have at best D in the other
What!?
Where did this dumb idea come from that Zin killed the guy?
Yeah sure, he killed him when invading, because, you know, he was an INVADER.
But it's not like Zin pulled a bunch of enemies to the guy and shrugged - during his time as a co-op summon. No, he just refused to help kill the boss for the guy - that's all.
