oh. well you can build for pve however you want.
if i were you though i'd just start over with an online account. i don't know how gfwl works though.
Would this 40 VIT/END/STR/DEX and 15+ rapier build work well in PvP then should I choose to start over?
Anyone have second thoughts about the Dark Lord ending after the DLC?
Humanity, the abyss, and other such things don't look very appealing much at all anymore. Maybe it's just because Manus is insane, but a Serpent was who staged the whole thing.
Anyone else been in that odd moment where you were summoned to help the same guy you just killed in a invasion?

Yep. The thing with PvP is that the skill of the player is WAY more important than the build.
Right now I'm using a plank shield and a notched whip and I'm still winning 80% of my fights.
Man, this game is great. I mean, first I ran into the burg thinking it was the wrong way to go and didn't have many problems, made it to Taurus, and then noped back to the bonfire in the burg and ran back to the crestfallen warrior, so that I could go the "right" way, only to find I had gone the right way the first time.
Then I have a hell of a time even getting to the Taurus, and get close to killing him a few times, but after like an hour I summon help. We sweep through, I practically feel like I'm cheating as this guy arches everything, I could barely get any kills in, we took out the Taurus daemon. Now this is where I'm confused, is there supposed to be a bonfire after the Taurus daemon? Because I go and speak to Solaire and mostly avoid getting my ass kicked by the dragon, I have no estus at this point, make it through under the bridge, and get onto the platform above the beast and take out the crossbowmen. At this point I have like 1/8th health. And then I got invaded :v:
I feel I put up a good fight, even if I didn't get a hit in. But then I had to go all the way back to the bonfire in the early burg and I couldn't be bothered to try and trek all that way for my bloodstain, so I quit. That's 7000 souls down the drain :suicide:

I've had an invader kill me and then I summoned him for the boss.
He was a cool dude, we killed OnS in under 3 minutes.

under the bridge where that dragon is back will lead to a ladder you have to kick down that will save you alot of time going back and forth and doubles as a extra bonfire to the area, plus there is a bonfire right under the dragon.
More games need areas like Ash Lake.
Seriously, I've never seen another game that captured the feeling of traversing a vast expanse so well before.

Yes, there is a bonfire- you can unlock a shortcut to a previous one. When you are on the bridge, and take the stairs down, instead of continuing along underneath the bridge, go to the door on the left- you should be able to kick down a ladder leading to the old bonfire. In fact, almost all of the bonfires in this game are shortcuts to previous ones.
Do occult weapons cause curse?
Do occult weapons cause curse?
No. Occult/divine doesn't do anything besides divine killing the resurrecting skeletons.
Supposedly occult does slightly more damage to hosts/white/gold phantoms and divine does more to red/blue phantoms.
Pretty sure that was proved to be false. Occult only does more damage to things like Silver Knights and some bosses that function as "gods", Gwyn, Gwyndolin, etc..
Just had a pretty nice moment in this game.
Got summoned by someone who never played the game before and asked if I could help him with the gargoyle boss, the guy was learning pretty well tried to tell him about how the combat works and all the jazz and after many deaths He and I make it to the Gargoyles, Things got bad real fast at the start of the fight, Solaire was knocked off the ledge and was insta-killed I managed to get both Gargoyles down pretty dang low but was stuck between the two and was killed too. Naturally I figured the guy got killed so I headed back to the same summoning spot he got me, but after a few moments I heard something that made me happy, the bell was ringing and I get a message from the same guy saying that he beat them and got the bell.
God damn I love this game.

also did ANYONE buy the game on 360? I'm wndering if I should start sunbro-ing again.
I find the 50-60 pvp range to be pretty fun.
is 60 a good level for a darkmoon blade character?
probably not i only get darkmoon invasions at like 100-125, although my 133 character gets them a ton
Man, that stream was fun as hell. FINALLY beat Ormplestein and Smoughskins so now I am done for the night. Will resume SL1 stream tomorrow!

Depends on where you invade...if you invade Duke's Archives, you'll be invading 24/7.

Elevators OP
Man. The Bastard Sword's R1/R2 synergy is incredible. Seriously, give it a try.
Isn't it the same as the Claymore? It's my favourite moveset.
No, it's even better than the Claymore. Try a 2h R2 > R1 > R2. It's beautiful.
I played around with the editor, probably going to start over with a new character geared towards PvP, is this a good build? Planning to use a buffed rapier (haven't decided on the shield/armor yet) to riposte/backstab a lot.
You don't need 40 str, especially for a rapier.
Really, if the rapier's ALL you plan on using (or other dex weapons), you can just get like 18 str and do what you want with the 20 extra points.
All the high strength weapons are heavy and slow. If you don't want heavy and slow, stick with Dex weapons.
[editline]26th December 2012[/editline]
Also, you have 0 poise. This is not a good thing to have.
Let me see if I can dig up that post I made a while ago explaining why someone's build wasn't great. Most of it applies to yours too (not a bad thing, learning experiences and whatnot).
[editline]26th December 2012[/editline]
can't find it, I'll just explain it. This will be long.
Okay, first things first. There's no point establishing a build if you don't really know what you're getting into.
Have you actually beaten/played the game? I haven't seen you post here too much so I assume you've only recently gotten the game. If so, play through it first. Trust me.
[editline]26th December 2012[/editline]
actually I think I'll just write a huge fucking post and just edit the OP. I have a feeling we're going to get a lot of PvP questions.

I'm pretty new to the game, yeah (only 14 hours in) but I recently discovered that I couldn't play online due to the fact that I made an offline account. For online integration, I'd have to restart as a new character with a new GFWL account- so I need advice on a good character to aim for. Unless someone has a method for transferring saves between GFWL accounts, I really have no other choice, I don't want to miss out on online features.
Give me like 20 minutes, I'm redoing the OP so I don't have to answer these questions fifteen times a day.

I love the 2h R1 > R2 on greatswords.
I don't like the bastard sword though. Vertical attacks suck and the claymore's R2 poke is a lot better.
God damnit, I just got past Sen's Fortress and I want to start the game all over again. This build is becoming boring.
Okay, updated the OP with common questions/info. I'll add common builds in a sec.

Thanks Zip, I should have tried it. Regardless though, they shouldn't force customers to do this.
