chaos/lightning/fire weapons don't scale off of anything but still do good damage so the idea is to just get enough str/dex to wield the weapons, then make then chaos +5/lightning +5/fire +10 and then put the points you WOULD have put into str/dex into vit/end instead. That is a vit gouge build. I think Demon's Souls is the reason it's called that but I've never played it. that works too. use mugenmonkey.com/darksouls/ to plan out your stats so you don't end up putting more into stuff than necessary also don't worry about it, if you like the game you'll end up having like 18 characters. i lost count of how many i've had

I've been hanging around the Burg getting invaded recently though and started using the Uchi because it helps the noob image. For the Uchi, the thrust is nowhere near as useful but the fast attack does a lot more damage so it's kinda worth it. The bleed is very useful for PvP as tanking behind a shield just results in bleed damage, found it very useful. Overall I'd go BSS for PvE and Uchi for PvP, it's not hard to get them both to +15.

It is. Although it went from $15 to $18 on Amazon, and Steam hasn't had a daily deal on it yet... Still worth $18, but Steam might beat that price.

Decided to rebuy Dark Souls and get the collectors edition. I didn't want a console version of it though so I had to import it from the UK. Weird that they don't have a PC collectors edition in north america. Only cost me 14 harry potter monies too.
