It's cool. I summoned one guy, but he immediately got 2 shot.

Hahaha, Poise show down, +15 greatsword > Artorias.
[editline]5th January 2013[/editline]
Cool, now I can dual wield gold tracers.

Oh god I don't have the stamina for this many combos.
Is going for a vit/end build only (with a few points in str/dex for a specific weapon) actually viable for PvE? I see/hear a lot of people using them for low-level PvP, but wasn't sure how well they scaled for end-game PvE. The +15 normal / max stats outdo them, no?

Anything is viable in PvE. Anything.
Any +5 lightning weapon will get you through the entire game just fine.
Yeah if you go +5 lightning or +10 fire
WHAT THE FUCK

How's this for invading in Duke's?
Man, I love standing outside of O&S's room watching orange signs and phantoms coming and going. Turning around and seeing someone fighting them dodging desperately.
[editline]6th January 2013[/editline]
80 feels a bit too high.

Okay, planned out my vit/end build, started on it tonight and I'm pretty much halfway there. It isn't too late to change things though, so posting here for advice. Is this a good build or no?

Got'em as he was running for the gate, backstabbed him as soon as he was there, and then a giant bro helped beat him down.
[editline]6th January 2013[/editline]
And yes, I'm wearing full Solaire.
I'm not too great at making builds myself, but isn't 119 poise a bit much? Without the Wolf Ring you got 79 poise. Maybe some other ring?
i invaded someone in sen's fortress and as soon as i spawned he died somewhere and indicted me

80 seems pretty high for Dukes, get some lighter armour because you won't need something that tough and drop your End. You might even do better if you Mid-rolled, changed Havel's ring for Wolf and upped your Vit. Unless they have something like Grant, a good shield can save you in PvP more than rolling away can.

You've got the Grass Crest, you planning on two-handing the Claymore? If so, swap it for the Zwei because the two-handed swing on Ultra-greatswords is fast enough to be effective and it gives a lot more hitting power. With that End and weight limit, you could even keep the Zwei as a secondary and switch to it when needed.
Man, Anor Londo is really busy tonight.
She's a meat shield that buys you a bit of time to attack Quelaag before she turns your attention to you. If you keep her alive the entire fight she's useful for a few quite damaging blows and for distracting Quelaag while you go in for attacks.
Nah, she just got stuck at the entrance while Quelaag chased me around.
Essentially I solo'd it.

Im invading Anor Londo tonight if anyone wants a go.
I have a question. When I found out about existence of Greatsword of Artorias and its' minimal stats I spent 19 levels into faith/int to be able to wield it.
Did I waste a lot of souls and ruin my character or is the sword actually good?
Seriously, what's up with every single person I invade using black magic?
Times like this is why me having vow of scilence during invasions in anor londo makes things hilarious and easy for me
And I'm probably pretty shit at pvp
Still would rather get great magic barrier though just because it doesn't take up two damn slots to use

How is your character built otherwise?
What level are you?
Your character certainly isn't ruined, its just that it will be less specialized, and considerably more generalized now. Hell, while you are at it, you might at well take advantage of your new faith/int and learn some sorceries and miracles.
Greatsword is eh in my opinion, not bad but I just preferred my claymore to it.
Well, I just wrecked the Bed of Chaos, Seath, and Gwyn all in one go.
I guess I messed up on Solaire somewhere along the way. I killed the Sunlight Maggot and talked to him in that area, but he didn't show up outside Gywn's doorstep so I figured I had to talk to him somewhere else.
Didn't bother doing it though. Power within + hornet ring + 14 Demon's Great Axe took him out in three hits.
Too bad I didn't get to use my Dragon Torso Stone for that extra power.

It was my main character (SL 91 right now) so I was just putting points into str/dex to wield what weapons seemed appealing and occasionaly into vit/end. The only spell I used is Heal for safer exploration without triggering humanity, but now that I beat the game I wonder if I should dump my main and get new specified characters.
how the hell do I beat sif while I'm level 11 when he seems to have the special ability to lag the shit out of me? I already puckered my asscheeks and went into the catacombs to get a fire longsword +2 but I cant block his double 360 noscope sword spin
Put on your favorite hat and jacket. Purchase a crossbow from a fine establishment (or rip one from the hands of a fresh corpse) and commission the nearest large man (or skeleton) with a hammer to bash lots of metal splinters into said crossbow. Load up on pointy sticks (of your choosing), proceed to hunt that wolf like it is big game season.
ok, i'll try that
Stay at the very edge of your lock range, fire a few bolts, and roll when he gets close/ shield then roll and run.
You can keep him at a comfortable distance what with all of his lunging and spinning, just get a feel for the range on his downward swing, as it is his longest ranged attack and if you get hit by it, you are probably dead.
you pussy get underneath him and disembowel that oversized pooch like you're supposed to
you pussy get underneath him and disembowel that oversized pooch like you're supposed to
this
just gotta stay right up in his taint and r1 to victory
i've done that but i don't do enough damage to just get it over with quick which means that the fight takes ages which means that i have a million opportunities to fuck up. the crossbow method ends up having this same problem
you should be relatively safe behind a shield while you are 1handing a crossbow. Sif is tough, but only if you stay in is range. how much is the crossbow doing per hit/ what is it, how upgraded is it, etc.)
The shield should give you a get out of fuck up free card if you eat a hit from sif, but after fighting him this many times, I daresay you should have a handle on how long his attacks take, and when you should be running as opposed to shooting.
Also, if you have the eagle shield, switch to it. The stability is glorious in this sort of situation. That, or grass crest for maximum sprinting action.

probably because you're using a crappy longsword
If you're having problems with sif, an arguably easy boss, then 4kids will tear you about 3 new anuses.
yeah use a drake sword like a man :)

I'm...not sure what to say.
probably because you're using a crappy longsword
I really love the longswords moveset and such for mobs/general enemies or PvP (though with pvp for me so far its best for battles of attrition where nobody can get a good blow in, easier to do with a quicker weapon).
But things that aren't massive heavy hitting weapons just suckkkkkk against bosses or big fatty/armored dudes (like titans). Was watching a video of a guy just using a flame zweihander and killing smaugh in literally 6-8 hits or so (500-600 damage each) while at best I could do 100/300 damage each depending on the attack.
Speaking of which I do think huge weapons have an advantage in this game in the sense that they are oddly just as easy to BS or crit with as any other weapon, which is crazy when they easily do the most damage. I think in the next game they should make it so backstabs/crits only register at the point you actually make contact with the attack, instead of instant-locking you into some awkward animation and letting the guy with the giant super sword crit you.
Just seems like it would be more balanced if daggers or shortswords were actually easier to crit/backstab with simply because its faster at attacking which means an easier time actually landing a backstab hit. While a greatsword can do it as well but it'll only trigger if the attack actually hits the target on the back (which can be hard with a slow weapon) instead of automatically putting you in a backstab animation the moment you attack their back/crit.
