I learned the hard way what happens when the Gaping Dragon barfs on you...
Is it worth it to kill Solaire and take his armour, and will I suffer any penalties in the Covenant Warrior of Sunlight if I do?

IF YOU KILL SOLAIRE I WILL SINGLE HANDEDLY HUNT YOU DOWN AND MURDER YOU IN YOUR SLEEP

Also you'll make the game a lot harder so get fucked if you do.

Alright, I guess I won't kill him then, is there any good gear I could use instead as a faith heavy character?

Unless you're being a dick or have a huge fetish for his armor, I can't see why anyone would kill him. He's a really nice and down to earth guy. His whole [sp]questioning his sanity thing during the optional meet back at the Sunlight Alter. Man, that really hit me. Made him feel really human and not like yet-another static NPC.[/sp]
Every non-dex weapon is pretty easily punished.
My favorite method to kill dex-based invaders is to use the sprint attack of the BKS. People never expect it so it evens the playing field a bit, and it's very easy to hit with.
I killled him. :3

To be fair, it's NG+ and I'm trying to collect all of the armors.

Because badasses never turn their shoulders to witness the chaos that has ensued before them
Once I learned his trick, the fight was terribly easy.
Cool guys don't look at monsters dying.
After beating Nito I decided to finally go explore the area beyond that locked gate in the forest. Wow.
About a minute after I went through the gate the fog walls went up and the invasions just wouldn't stop, I managed to slip out after 3 non stop invasions.
Is that going to happen every time I go into the forest?
Tried 3 different times to kill the Gargoyles. First time, game crashed half-way through(Literally the first gargoyle was just about to die.) Second time, Solaire was no help and just sat back by the fog gate throwing lightning spears that missed. Third time, had to try without Solaire because I had no humanity and died pretty quickly once the second gargoyle hopped down.
Uchigatana +5 does godly damage to the gargoyles though.
Also got summoned by a dude who had the full dragon covenant armor(I was level 20) and we got invaded by a dick who kept forcing us to fight hollows/balder knights so he could try to backstab. Game crashed again before we could kill him. :(

If you go in there while human, yes. People in the forest covenant invade there.

It's pretty much a dedicated PVP area with an entire covenant based around it.

his armor and shield are pretty good. armor has high resistances, better than elite knight yet slightly worse overall protection than elite knight, and a little bit less in weight. it's a good set.
won't affect covenant at all

Verify game cache. That should be the first thing you do any time the game crashes on launch.
Yeah I did that, said 1 file is missing, installed Direct X again, still does it
I must plaay, why are you doing this all of a sudden
Restart your PC. It works wonders for me so many times.
Does levelling too much have a downside?
If way over leveled for your area, you'll find it really hard to get summons for a boss, be summoned, or get invaded (for pvp).
Its generally better to level your equipment more than you, and only level what you need to use equipment well. I.e also bad to level up a bunch of stats unrelated to what a weapon you find you like in the next area needs, as the more you level the more expensive it gets. Sucks to want to use this weapon onky to find you need 22str and you've been leveling all over

is it easier to start a ranged class? those skeletons at the start of the non tutorial area fucked my shit up as a knight, demon souls wasnt this hard

Don't. Go. That. Way. Go to the Aqueduct in the other direction, those skeletons are way above your level/gear.

Knight was the easiest class to start with for me in my first real playthrough, well it was after I started a troll character as the deprived and had a really shitty time for my first two hours of the game.
Oh and if you are fighting actual skeletons I would suggest you find another path and take that one since you don't have to go to the skeleton area right away.
The Skeletoms are high level. They'll shit on your face. You can easily do a graveyard run though and collect the items.

I actually did something similar my first time playing except I went directly to the New Londo Ruins after I aggroed the dude at the firelink shrine bonfire (cant actually remember his name) I was wondering why I couldn't kill any of the enemies and I sprinted around for a long time before I was murdered. I then made the dude run off a cliff when I respawned. Good Times.
Oh and on a sidenote is it frustrating for anyone else to watch your friends play the game? It took the guy hours to kill the gargoyles and about ten attempts to kill the Taurus Demon, the whole time talking about how the game was bullshit. After all that he decided to try and fight the Prowling Demon before Darkroot Garden about twenty times before he ragequit.
is it worth it to spend all of my demon titanite to upgrade the demon's spear?
i really want a good lightning weapon but i dont have the ember yet
