Divine is usually a bad idea, and giving an ember to a blacksmith is the only way to actually make use of it.
Its not terrible and it gave a huge boost to damage early on for me, also does extra damage against things like skeletons/ghosts and makes it so skeletons don't revive, plus you can get to occult from it (which apparently is pretty decent) but generally going +15, lightning, magic or whatever gives you much better damage/utility in the long run, especially since divine makes weapons scale worse with physical and only adds average faith scailing to the damage. Not to mention you can't enchant (including resins) on divine weapons.
For divine weapons I use a throwaway weapon like a straight sword that doesn't cost a lot to upgrade and make it divine +1, just to finish off the enemies. Not worth upgrading to +10..

You can just grab Astora's Straight Sword early on for a good early-game divine weapon, no need to spend souls/use materials to make a weapon divine yourself.

I haven't even reached there. I'm trying to backtrack but I'm lost as hell and I fall down and ..... fuck.
If you have the master key just go the back way, it's much easier.

The bottom of Blighttown is called the swamp, to put us on the same page.
It's a bigass poison lake.
Falling down in Blighttown is probably your worst enemy, and as much as the shortcut helps you, you really need the experience and souls
i'm going to make a character that doesn't blow at pvp someone recommend me a class
[editline]7th January 2013[/editline]
also i didn't even know you were supposed to go to the depths and then blighttown i just sort of accidentally skipped over lower burg and the depths with the master key shortcut oops

It's okay. The Depths is 100% awful anyway
both depths and blighttown are horrible
thankfully From remembered that nobody liked the Valley of Defilement and gave us a way to skip them

Lower blighttown is essential if you don't want your weapons to suck though. Though a strength character that gets a lucky BKS or BKGS drop could skip them entirely.
Seath is creepy as hell in the intro cutscene
nito is my favourite lordsoul character
seath is cool and the witches are boring and gwyn's alright i guess but nito is MADE OF SKULLS
Time for SL1 Drake and Josh

can someone just draw a comic of someone climbing out of the coffin and seeing sleeping nito and going like
"oh hey"
"can i work for you"
"i'll just leave my resume here"

I cringe every time I see someone playing without using lock-on. They tell you that shit in the tutorial. And then people complain the tutorial doesn't explain enough.

And his name. Honestly, when I watched the intro, I was reminded of "That's real fucking neato."

Admittedly I did just run around shooting Super Oreo with a crossbow
God damn this is ridiculous. I suck at this game. Is there any teleport cheat or something :v:

Where are you stuck?
Also invasions are supposed to be ten levels down and up as high as possible but I can't seem to invade in Anor Londo
Blighttown. I'm kinda lost as hell. Fuck it, I'm starting a new character.
some other day. this game is exhausting

You playing on PC? I could help you through Blighttown. Where should I put my summon sign?
Just realised I used the Fire Keeper Soul to reinforce my estus flask as opposed to [sp]restoring Firelink firekeeper[/sp]
whoops
Off to Blighttown cos I didn't get the one there

lol good luck connecting to anyone ever on pc
maybe it's just me but i can never connect to the people i want to 9/10 and even when i'm in a popular pvp area i barely ever get invaded
my ports are forwarded and everything
I've been upgrading my zweihander and I gave this piece of ember (the one you get after the butterfly) to the first blacksmith you meet (the one before the forest area). Was giving the ember a bad choice and is it a good idea to upgrade my zweihander to divine?
edit: nm about the ember, but is the zweihander good as a divine weapon?
Save your Zwei, but I would recommend finding the Great Scythe and turning that divine. It's still got really good scaling after you modify it.

I know. I rarely ever get summoned when I put my sign down and pretty much every sign I try to use disappears.
I honestly had no trouble with blight town and actually thought it was a pretty cool place. There's only one annoying enemy there, the dart guys, and they don't respawn once you kill them (odd they don't, likely they patched that feature in later on because having dart guys everywhere makes it much harder).
Never fell off, never had trouble fighting the dudes there, etc. Felt like I was in a goblin city or something, using a pure melee character.
Then again I just walked everywhere and was mindful and slow going through the whole place so it didn't overwhelm me or anything. If you try to play through it quick I imagine it's crazy hard
