I just got dark souls last night and I heard that the PC controls are broken without an Xbox controller.

I don't have an Xbox 360 or any related controllers, is it really unplayable?

There is a kb+m mod on Dark Souls Nexus that supposedly makes the controls better. Controllers are just for comfort really.

Well, I took someone's advice and used the Dragonslayer bow to try and knock people off some cliffs. Here's how that went.

Literally can't block anyone with a scythe since bleed damage ignores blocking entirely which makes zero sense to me

I am totally hitting myself though for not using loyds talisman though, totally forgot those even existed. Invaded said scythe guy in dukes, almost killed him twice but then he ran off somewhere and healed with estus. Eventually he killed me via blood loss through my shield even though I took no damage :\

If I had realized what those talisman do I would have used it when he first started healing and then offed him when he had very little hp left lol

I tried to navigate my way back to the bonfire by following orange signs that people had placed and bumping into walls, but when I got down a few of the staircases I dropped through the missing floor and started falling forever, the game never autokilled me for it. had to alt+f4 in a panic before it autosaved me 2km under the map.

Occult is much better because it scales better with high faith but you do lose the ability to perma kill skellies and you also lose the damage bonus divine gets against things like undead

But those are the only real benefits of divine anyways unless you are just RP'ing a paladin or something, since enchants on a +15 are much much better than doing divine or occult, or making crystal, or w/e

Just had a duel where we bowed and everything :o

Was cool haha. Of course got totally owned since this guy obviously knew how to PvP well plus had his magic weapon buff and all that jazz. Flippy dudes with weapons that do tons of damage are hard to back stab properly since if you get too close you die much quicker from his swipes than he would from yours :(
