So I abandoned my first playthrough after I realized I was derping everywhere. So I rerolled and I got to Anor Londo (which I now hate with a passion) and was struggling with Orn and Smaug.
Kept trying to summon somebody to help, but while that was happening I was invaded and all of a sudden I get a cutscene, some bitch telling me I'm going to die in the shadow of Anor Londo, everything goes black, and BOOM Lordvessel. Da fuck happened guys?
Or maybe it is indeed me having problems with Anor Londo instead, Blighttown and Sen's Fortress are vacations compared to it. And not because it is more intense, but rather quite the opposite, everything is extremely spaced out and uneventful, it has a most unpleasant mixture of complete boredom, and ridiculously annoying enemies.
Also, I noticed that it is possible to easily run through a lot of areas in this game, especially Sen's Fortress, in which you can literally avoid swinging your weapon once, and make the enemies trip over their own traps.
I assume that if I am not capable of fighting a group of enemies within a certain area, I am probably under leveled/under equipped, correct? If I cannot comfortably take down two lizard dudes simultaneously within Sen's Fortress, would it indicate me not being properly prepared?
I think the only thing I haven't done in this game is kill Gywnevere.
I can't think of anything else I haven't done..

I like this guy.
Wha...what the hell?
Has anybody else experienced GPU overheating when fighting Priscilla?
Doing a fist weapon only run. I let myself use the starting weapon until I got the caestus because spending 5 minutes on every enemy is boring as fuck.
How exactly does parrying work, is it just a complete deflection of damage if timed right? Also, lemme guess, it doesn't work against magic/elements/ranged?

If you time a parry right, the attack doesn't hit you, and the enemy is left wide open for a riposte or whatever you wanna call it. Basically a front version of backstabbing, with a slightly higher damage bonus iirc.

And no, it doesn't work with magic/miracles/pyromancy or arrows/bolts.
It will still block magic/miracle-buffed weapons though.

Punching arrows seems rad.
You can parry arrows but it still does damage, it's just reduced. It's pretty cool looking too.
i've never done that. it's possible?
You can partial parry almost everything.

I am complete!!!
Yeah you can do what's called a "partial parry" against anything in the game
it reduces the damage you take and gives you hyper armor so you can't be stunned. Dodging or shielding is almost always a better option though.
parrying arrows with a parrying dagger or no weapon looks so dope though, especially if you don't stop moving while you do it

It's a shame Pinwheel is such a pushover (died in three strikes just now), he has a cool boss theme but you never hear it
Anor Londo is probably my greatest challenge thus far, purely because it takes half an hour to walk anywhere, and how stretchy and monotonous it is.
This game truly does seem to test your every weakness, including the weakness towards monotonousness (oh wow, this word actually exists)
Anor Londo is the second coolest area in the game IMO, I love to hang around there dark or not
Yeah, Pinwheel's theme is awesome:

You'll never hear more than 20 seconds of it ingame though...

I do agree that it is exceptionally pretty. I actually realized that I missed a few very important things which make traveling to the castle significantly easier. I not only did not open the main gate, but also missed the checkpoint down below.
I did not open the main gate because somehow the lever did not indicate with the push notice that it could be opened the first time, only then to have a phantom that I spawned walk through the castle and immediately open it.
so I thought about going to the tomb of giants today

[sp]Really though, the skeletons thus far are pushovers but I keep falling off ledges so I think I'll return with a light source[/sp]
seriously, I cannot do anything against that fucking minotaur demon in the undead burg.
I can't fucking move. I walked in, try to dodge the shit out of everything to get up the stairs, I get hit and bam 2 fucking dogs come and I can't move for shit and I die FUCK ARGH i've been stuck on this for a week
really? I just did it today and thought it was the easiest boss by far (out of all the bosses i've fought) :v: If you run straight up the stairs there is a ledge on the right that the demon often falls before he gets to it so you can do fall attacks on him. Also almost all his attacks are blockable with a shield. Just take the dogs out first. I was lucky that id upgraded my claymore so I took them both out with one swing :v:

I can't get to the stairs 'cause I just get ganked by everything and can't even get an inch past the doorway.
I can't even swing my weapon 'cause if I let my guard down or keep still for a second the dogs come at me from a different angle and then I'm dead. Also, on the odd occasion I do make it up there, he fucking jumps or something and I'm insta-dead.
I have a claymore and halberd, which one would you recommend? also, how do you upgrade your weapons at such an early point in the game?
god damn shit got me heated
I only used the claymore so thats the only one I can recommend, I went to andre the blacksmith hes in the basement of the church thats connected to the undead parish which is the place that has the gargoyles on the top of it.
I had defeated the gargoyles, and some magic butterfly before the capra demon so maybe I have some better stuff than you which made it easier.

You can upgrade your weapons with the blacksmith near the bell gargoyle tower. And I'd stick with the claymore. Also, make sure you're wearing light armor so you can get to the stairs faster. If you're at fatty roll you aren't going to get past the dogs without taking some hits.

I looked on youtube at how to get there, and it's saying I need to activate some levers for bridges or something? I don't remember doing so. I'll have a look now.

If you [sp]kill all of the necromancers in the catacombs[/sp] you'll get the Skull Lantern.
Why would you even skip killing any of those fuckers, the place is annoying enough without them.
I'm pretty sure I killed them all, but I could have missed one since I was using a divine man-serpent greatsword to keep the skellies down

I don't remember pulling any levers

I could see someone completely skipping them if they have another light source and just want to run through to Tomb.

In every playthrough I've done they have never dropped it. How many are there?
