I feel like I've killed more than that. I'll just dust off every corner of the catacombs on my next runthrough.
-snip-
I ended up in the catacombs looking for the blacksmith.
The skeletons just fucking come back alive. this fucking game
Just defeated the gaping dragon, has to be one of the most fearsome looking yet easy bosses i've encountered so far

The blacksmith is near the bell gargoyle tower.
The blacksmith is near the bell gargoyle tower.
I have no idea where that is
The blacksmith is near the bell gargoyle tower.
There's 4 blacksmiths actually.
Rickert in New Londo, who you can get to pretty easily from the start of the game(Just walk around the area before the bridges over the water, you'll find him)., Andre by the church(Cross the bridge across from the entrance with 3 hollows by it, then go down the stairs.), the giant blacksmith in Anor Londo, and Vamos in the catacombs.
[editline]10th January 2013[/editline]
Also calling it "bell gargoyle tower" doesn't make much sense. Yes, the bell and the gargoyles are there, but it isn't a tower.
Just call it the undead church or the church.
I have no idea where that is
oh so you haven't seen the dragon or fought the taurus demon?
you kinda go up on the right from the firelink shrine and you will eventually get there, i recommend going underneath the dragon and not fighting it though
I didn't give directions for the giant blacksmith or Vamos because I have no clue how to get to them, myself.

Broke my automerge. :(

i've been past the dragon many times, and been in the church where there's the elevator back to firelink shrine. that's all though, I have to rush through 'cause I aggro the boss :v:
ok so go up that elevator and literally just go straight when you get off the elevator there will be a bridge to a building and the smith is at the bottom of that building
ok so go up that elevator and literally just go straight when you get off the elevator there will be a bridge to a building and the smith is at the bottom of that building
up? the elevator goes down wtf

That big knight isn't the boss. The boss is on top of the church.
[editline]10th January 2013[/editline]
He means up from firelink.
up? the elevator goes down wtf
it goes up and down
[editline]10th January 2013[/editline]
and just parry and riposte that big knight it kills him real fast
it goes up and down

how do you make it go up?
just stand on the square on the elevator platform, the same way that you go down
how do you make it go up?
It goes UP from Firelink to the church, or DOWN from the church to firelink. That's it.
If you're at the church, just walk straight out the door across from the elevators and across the bridge. Walk down the stairs for a bonfire, then down the next set to get to Andre.
If you [sp]kill all of the necromancers in the catacombs[/sp] you'll get the Skull Lantern.
Droprate is random. Sometimes it drops at first, and sometimes it doesn't at all.

cool i found him, thanks
Question:
I'm planning on getting Dark Souls tomorrow, and the difference in price between Ready to Die and the normal one is $15-up.
For a first time player, which would you guys recommend getting?
Droprate is random. Sometimes it drops at first, and sometimes it doesn't at all.
The last one always drops it if none of the other ones dropped it, from what I understand. It's easy enough to just pick it up in ToTG anyway.

I thought Prepare to Die was the only version on PC? Regardless, Prepare to Die comes with the DLC. This DLC just happens to have the best boss in the game, and is worth every penny.

By the way, if you haven't killed the gargoyles you should do that before killing Capra demon. Judging by your previous posts you haven't done much to clear Parish, which you should definitely do before going against capra.

I was going to get the console version, as I am a peasant and don't have a gamepad.

Some say Keyboard controls are still playable with a fix. And that the mouse controls can be fixed as well. All we know is controllers are better.(Still get Prepare to Die, it's amazing)
Is there a way to sell items? I have too much shit :v:
I was going to get the console version, as I am a peasant and don't have a gamepad.
You can use a PS3/Xbox360 controller.
Is there a way to sell items? I have too much shit :v:
Once you've rung both bells you can ''sell'' your things to Frampt.
[sp]he eats your shit and spits out souls[/sp]

After you ring the second bell you can "sell" stuff to a certain NPC.
Some say Keyboard controls are still playable with a fix. And that the mouse controls can be fixed as well.
I had absolutely no trouble with keyboard and mouse when using the fix. Some of the menu navigating was tough at first, but I got past that quickly.
For a while after buying a controller I would sit down and play with the keyboard and mouse for a while before remembering "I have a controller now".
Main problem with it though, is no matter what button I pressed, I couldn't slide down ladders. It was either climb down slowly or jump.

Spacebar for sliding down ladders.

Rickert is in NEW Londo.
Vamos, you have to drop down a pit to get to him for the first time.
