One hour ago I had my first encounter with the four kings. One hour later and I am onto my fifth encounter with the four kings. This is hard.
You can try to turtle the boss if you got some good poise gear. That way you can just swing away.
protip: when you kill one king you can keep hitting it as it vanishes to do some extra damage before you go to the next one
It's official Lucerne is the sexiest fucking weapon 1K+ Damage w/sunlight blade and power within on the stray demon get shreked
Just killed the Capra Demon on my first try. The dogs weren't nearly as bad as people said they were, i managed to sneak in a flask while they were still alive.
It's official Lucerne is the sexiest fucking weapon 1K+ Damage w/sunlight blade and power within on the stray demon get shreked
Most weapons would do that with sunlight blade and power within.
Does anyone have any good challenge run ideas other than SL1? I was thinking of doing a 'scavenger' run where I only use items dropped from enemies.
I was thinking about only using starter gear in one game to keep myself amused, maybe as Knight since it's my favorite class
can you backstab with catalysts?
Just bought a couple of Dark Souls related clothes. Specifically this and this, as well a few other unrelated things. Should see them sometime next week.
also he threw another fucking alluring skull at me
it was probably a lloyds talisman
So just learned you can throw loyds talismen at mimics to get them to turn docile, and in turn let you "loot" a headgear that is literally just a mimic chest
Well, you're suppose to roll sideways, not backwards.
That was my first instinct as well, only Indianna Jones would run straight away from the giant thing coming towards him instead of going to the side. Smough could somehow just turn around to face me mid charge. :v: Generally a lot of enemies have way too high turn speeds in my opinion, especially in Anor Londo. I'll try them again later today, gotta get that lord vessel already. Jesus fuck it's annoying how you gotta get like halfway through the game before you can warp between bonfires, that's something Demon's Souls did way better.

The game has 26 bosses total. Of course, that requires completely skipping some areas using a Master Key.

It's nice because you get the ability right when you pretty much have all the routes between places down and can just go from one area to the next no problem. So at that point you don't really need to explore further. If they just let you warp way sooner then the game would be so much "easier" when it came to certain things and it would ruin a lot of the charm I think.
I decided to buy this a few days ago. Played for about 10 minutes and haven't touched it since.
So, you know how I fell off an edge and thought I lost my shit? Went on the next day, there it was, just sittin there on the edge. By now I've beaten the Gargoyle and have 13 souls (and a twin humanity). Shit that Gargoyle fight was amazing, felt so badass. Also grabbed the first one's tail right off the bat, but it's still weaker than the Black Knight's Sword. Seriously,I have yet to find a single weapon from any of these bosses that can match it, and I don't think I've even really seen anyone online with it. I've been summoned a few times and I guess it's probably because I'm still in a low level area, but I'm the only one capable of one-hitting hollows, even if I'm with people who want to go down to the tower basement to fight that fat dude, which I haven't even gotten the key for yet. Also, out of curiosity, what level were you guys at when you rang the first bell? I also got invaded for the first time, but at the worst time. I think I was trying to kill the Drake on the bridge in the Parish, but suddenly it was near one-hitting me and then I get invaded so I run for the stairs, get hit again, I'm down to basically 1 HP and he just walks up the stairs, stares at me for a second, then murders me. I also actually got a good summon, in which I joined a guy who already had someone there, and it was incredibly fun. We kicked basement dude's ass and killed the Taurus demon. Felt pretty nice. And seriously, it was really fun. Can't wait to get more of that. When I tried summoning someone myself, though, well, there were two signs on the ground, I tried summoning one of them twice, nothing happened and it disappeared, tried the other one twice again, the second time it said "Summoning Failed" and I never saw another Summon Sign. According to the internet this game has pretty notoriously bad connections, so I get that, but it sucks. I keep doubting whether or not my ports are forwarded correctly. Anyway, any tips for killing that dragon? I can't seem to get many hits on it before it flies up and one-hits me, nor can I do much to it's tail because it flies up and turns around to face me. Should I just keep getting behind it to force it to turn around again and again, or will if eventually just say "fuck it" and one-hit me? Or should I just come back later?

I just want to go around exploring areas, but it's such a pain to do without warping.

That basement dude is Havel by the way.

I just want to go around exploring areas, but it's such a pain to do without warping.
I can't do a second run. Maybe it was too soon or it's just not for me. I tried two new characters and New Game+; not finding any magic in it. I learned how to parry, riposte, dodge, etc. In the back of my mind, I still have the thought of "why not block and tank it anyways, it's only PvE who gives a fuck." That, and trying to be human (for some threat of dying) at SL1-SL20 is just a terrible idea with all the low-level runners and hacked players. I enjoy a legit invasion, even on a loss, but I don't enjoy someone invading my freshly minted thief in full Lautec armor, ninja-flipping and spamming fully upgraded flame Shotels - or the other guy with the Dragon Bone fists clean outta' Firelink. I got into the habit of just running for boss doors to spite those people. :v:
In my first playthrough I only used the black knight sword, it is really damn good.
In my first playthrough I only used the black knight sword, it is really damn good.
All of the black knight weapons do fuckloads of damage with really fun movesets.

According to the wiki they're infested barbarians.
I call them "Poo Droppers" since they only seem to drop dung.
