The female undead merchant. As long as you've killed the butchers all you should have to fight on the way to her is hollows and dogs. Unless you walk too slow in the slime hallway.
Hell, it's either her or Oswald up in the church so either way you've gotta go pretty much the same path. Just for Oswald you pay more and you have to fight the hollows at firelink/on the way up to Oswald.

Oh wait I'm wrong Oswald sells them for half the price.
i went to the church, needed to unlock the shortcut back to firelink anyway
eh?
you know transient curses? if you use those you can attack the ghosts
okay a few questions
one: does carry more souls in anyway affect your stats
and two: how would i go about getting to blightown from firelink shrine
Carrying as in having them on you? No
And there's two ways, you can go through the Depths from the Undead Parish, fighting the Taurus demon in the Undead Parish and travelling down to find the main entrance (This is true fighter mode) or you can go down the elevator beneath the Firelink Shrine and go right instead of left (left would take you to New Londo) and you'll find a door you can open with the master key you may or may not have (I don't know the other key for the door). Then it's a simple case of cross the canyon using the bridges provided, enter the cave and sprint past the fat bastards in there and you'll get to the start of Blight Town.
I recommend going through the front entrance though, while challenging it readies you up and tones your skills for later on.

I think it only provides with no poison/toxic build-up, meaning that you won't be poisoned by attacks through your shield.
you know transient curses? if you use those you can attack the ghosts
Oh i've been playing new londos while cursed, its far less hassle than using transient curses, those 5 ghosts just all attacked me at once out of nowhere which is why they fucked me up
Is there a way to change what I said to Alvina? I want to join the covenant.
I can't do a second run. Maybe it was too soon or it's just not for me.
I tried two new characters and New Game+; not finding any magic in it. I learned how to parry, riposte, dodge, etc. In the back of my mind, I still have the thought of "why not block and tank it anyways, it's only PvE who gives a fuck."
That, and trying to be human (for some threat of dying) at SL1-SL20 is just a terrible idea with all the low-level runners and hacked players. I enjoy a legit invasion, even on a loss, but I don't enjoy someone invading my freshly minted thief in full Lautec armor, ninja-flipping and spamming fully upgraded flame Shotels - or the other guy with the Dragon Bone fists clean outta' Firelink. I got into the habit of just running for boss doors to spite those people. :v:
Honestly if you run into someone like that then running for the boss door should be what you do.
I can't wait personally to get to NG+ just so I can hang out in burg/parish with my level 80/100 character, never beat the bosses, and let myself get invaded by twinks only to systematically destroy them all. Maybe I'll do it naked too so they don't get scurred and run off.
Anyone feel like helping me out with the twins? I'm level 39 at Anor Londo and this is my last humanity, I'm p.pissed.
Steam's under my avatar
On one of my next characters I'm thinking of dedicating a bit of time getting invaded and getting them to fall off ledges or something.
Today has been a good day. I decided to pick up my Syrio Forel, no shield run. Things went surprisingly well. I killed Sif without taking a hit, killed the 4 Kings and only got hit twice, killed Pinwheel in 4 hits (lol), killed Seath with a bow when he got stuck on 2 cursed players. Nito was the only one who killed me because I forgot to use the divine club to kill the skeletons that come after you.
I time to fuck Gwyn up.
Finally got my armor and weapon combo I wanted.
Paladin armor with ornstien helmit, gloves and boots = swag as fuck.
Using silver knight straight sword. Not the "best" weapon out there but I still deal 330ish damage with it per standard swing at just under 30 dex, and I love the look and reach of it. I miss the thrusting ability of my longsword but this sword almost feels like a mini-halberd with how far it pokes. With dorkmoon enchant it is pretty deadly as well.
And of course the silver knight shield, not only because its really good but it also just looks perfect with my set
All I have to do now is the DLC area, 4kings, izeleth, and the final boss and I think I should be pretty much done with this playthrough.
Oh i've been playing new londos while cursed, its far less hassle than using transient curses, those 5 ghosts just all attacked me at once out of nowhere which is why they fucked me up
Maybe the half health had something to do with that. Transient curses are no hassle, you pop one and if you know what you're doing that's all you need to clear upper New Londo.
Yeah, just upgrade something simple with a decent moveset. You'll only use it once when before you kill all the Necromancers and probably again in Nito's lair just to make the fight pissweak. You can handle a bit of low damage for that small period.
Nito's fight was pretty intense for me. 4/5 estus left, and go figure those little skeleton fuckers in the area before can toxin you and I had no anti-toxin. So the whole fight I had to keep an eye on my health and heal to not die from the toxin effect. So glad I had a summon there with me to help out and distract, made the fight much better - skeletons weren't much of an issue at all.
Dark Souls really is one of "those" games for me. I'm ussually hesitant to start playing it (seeing as how I'm not in the mood for a hardcore action-rpg). But once I start it up and play for 15 minutes, I'll be playing all night.
it was probably a lloyds talisman
no seriously it wasn't, i looked and my estus wasn't greyed out or anything
he literally threw an alluring skull at me
[sp]Siegfried and Solaire[/sp] just died for me in [sp]Lost Izalith[/sp]. Why ;_;, they were my two favorite characters.
So I decide to do NG+ with my SL1. Within an hour and a half, I'm at O&S, who I beat on the first try. I thought NG+ would demolish me, so far it's been easy.
So I accidentally stabbed the blacksmith. How do I get him to calm his nipples?

you could have saved them both you bastard
Not Seigmeyer, he's damned by his amazing voice and jovial attitude.
I plan to start an SL1 run now. I suppose it involves leveling up pyromancy as a surrogate of the character?
I've just been phantoming the Gaping Dragon boss for souls. Feels good to help these peeps, yo. Especially when one of them thought it was necessary to dress up like a princess and bring a dagger.
Been doing some PvP in the township at SL120, just went up against a guy trying to kill me by spamming dark magic, the best part? The fact that he had the base health of 531, I bet he put every point into intelligence, too bad he can't do that in real life.
Edit: Oh wow he's also using miracles, just got TWoP pursuers'd.
Can't believe I didn't notice until now.
The balder set armor is more or less exactly the same armor Guts uses in Berserk.
Why is it that no matter how many times I attempt to locate an enemy's weakness, it still does nearly exactly the same damage? Is it possible for some enemies to just be resistant towards everything, and just require a strong weapon?
I clearly located the weakness that skeletons have, yet when it comes to Anor Londo, I am honestly not sure. According to a number of Dark Souls tips, if it takes you 15 hits to kill an enemy, then there is usually something wrong, how accurate is that?
I just got chewed out by some kid this morning for not being fair, then he ranted about banishment.
The people who play this game entertain me. Especially the people who claim I pee in the pool so I have to hack to feel good about myself, so now I say "cry me a river so I may pee in it" when people get mad.

It means your weapons isn't upgraded, dealing the right type of damage or (if a dagger, per se) you're not getting ripostes and backstabs. Some weapons (strike/slash/stab) are better than others. Strike tended to be the best for me because nothing really had good defense against it. (And always two-hand when you have an opening to do so.)
Then again, what do I know. Smough's Hammer 5+ killed every single enemy in game (first run) in one hit. Two if it was something really big. My Black Knight Axe 5+ did almost as much damage thanks to a crazy strength stat bonus; but it did deplorable damage against some large/stone/undead enemies compared to the oil-tanker-on-a-stick.
Hah, Berserk even has the Taurus Demon.
