Also, I saw a few people over the past few days with a sword that bursts into flames on contact. Anyone know what sword that is?
So I decide to do NG+ with my SL1. Within an hour and a half, I'm at O&S, who I beat on the first try. I thought NG+ would demolish me, so far it's been easy.
NG+ is easy I'm still working on my SL1 NG+++++ run though [editline]11th January 2013[/editline]
Edit: Oh wow he's also using miracles, just got TWoP pursuers'd.
I don't remember if TWoP makes you unable to roll but I'd just like to say that even though I still despise the unbalanced piece of shit Dark Magic is, you can just roll when pursuers hit you and you won't take any damage.
Also, I saw a few people over the past few days with a sword that bursts into flames on contact. Anyone know what sword that is?
Any sword with the fire upgrade you get from using Vamos.
It means your weapons isn't upgraded, dealing the right type of damage or (if a dagger, per se) you're not getting ripostes and backstabs. Some weapons (strike/slash/stab) are better than others. Strike tended to be the best for me because nothing really had good defense against it. (And always two-hand when you have an opening to do so.) Then again, what do I know. Smough's Hammer 5+ killed every single enemy in game (first run) in one hit. Two if it was something really big. My Black Knight Axe 5+ did almost as much damage thanks to a crazy strength stat bonus; but it did deplorable damage against some large/stone/undead enemies compared to the oil-tanker-on-a-stick.
I do agree that I quite honestly have been doing no backstabs, or other special attacks whatsoever, so far I assumed that backstabs are more of a powerful alternative "if you pull it off" type of thing rather than something more mandatory.
Also, I saw a few people over the past few days with a sword that bursts into flames on contact. Anyone know what sword that is?
Could be absolutely any sword with the fire upgrade.
I don't remember if TWoP makes you unable to roll but I'd just like to say that even though I still despise the unbalanced piece of shit Dark Magic is, you can just roll when pursuers hit you and you won't take any damage.
You can't, you just do that weird steppy thing like when you're above your maximum encumbrance.
NG+ is easy I'm still working on my SL1 NG+++++ run though [editline]11th January 2013[/editline] I don't remember if TWoP makes you unable to roll but I'd just like to say that even though I still despise the unbalanced piece of shit Dark Magic is, you can just roll when pursuers hit you and you won't take any damage.
TWoP makes it so you can't roll. There isn't much you can do about TWoP + pursuers besides blocking unless you jump attack/rapier kick attack your way out of TWoP's range before you get hit by the pursuers.
Could be absolutely any sword with the fire upgrade.

Any sword with the fire upgrade you get from using Vamos.
And where can I find a fire upgrade?
And where can I find a fire upgrade?
Go to the catacombs and talk to the Skeleton Blacksmith called Vamos with a +5 non-unique weapon and he can ascend it to the fire upgrade path.
And where can I find a fire upgrade?
Vamos is in the catacombs. He's sort of difficult to find though. This can help.
To the catacombs I go. Thanks guys.
What's better to have overall, a fire weapon or lightning weapon?
one: does carry more souls in anyway affect your stats
No, but humanity does. Having more humanity increases your overall damage resistance and makes items drop more often, and later on you can enhance weapons to do more damage depending on you much humanity you have. The tradeoff of course being that you risk losing it all if you die.

Can I put fire on my Black Knight Halberd?
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD STOP LIMPING :(
What's better to have overall, a fire weapon or lightning weapon?
Almost nothing in the game can withstand lightning, even other players in PVP will get zapped right through their armour and shield by it most of the time because there's like no gear in the game that significantly protects against it. Fire on the other hand is much cheaper to make materials-wise, and can be upgraded to chaos fire that gets additional damage for each humanity you're carrying. Only problem is that some enemies are pretty fire resistant and armour/shields/rings exist for players that make them damn near immune to it.
What's better to have overall, a fire weapon or lightning weapon?
Fire Weapons generally tend to be more damaging, but many enemies and players have good fire defense, so you may end up doing less damage than you would with a lightning weapon. Chaos weapons are fucking ridiculous with 10 humanity, though.
Can I put fire on my Black Knight Halberd?
Nope.
After about 10 tries i finally managed to kill Ornstein and Smough. Feels so good ! I am so in love with this game
then do the next best thing hide behind your crest shield +5 why aren't you using a crest shield
Because your guard will break anyway and you'll lose ~80% of your health if you don't get one shotted.
What the easiest way to get uncursed? I haven't been to that Londo place yet though, so I can't really just go to the healer there.
What the easiest way to get uncursed? I haven't been to that Londo place yet though, so I can't really just go to the healer there.
You can buy purging stones from oswald.
You can buy purging stones from oswald.
Who?
Who?
The dude you meet after you ring the gargoyle bell.
The guy at the bottom of the bell gargoyle tower
Who?
The dude you met in the clock tower after you killed the two Gargoyles, I believe you can buy them from that one merchant in the sewers too, but Oswald sells them for a much cheaper price. Assuming you've gotten that far.
I am seriously starting to think that I should start a different character, I did not upgrade my vitality with this one whatsoever, and attempted too much to make him universal, resulting in him having too many pointless stat points, while having no margin for error whatsoever. I am also starting to get the impression that strength and dexterity are not just alternatives, and that certain situations genuinely require strength, while others genuinely require dexterity, it does not appear to be possible to go through certain things on a comfortable level with dexterity alone. I have played for 60 hours, and am currently level 41, and appeared to have genuinely hit a dead end in terms of stats, everything from this point either takes too much freakishly boring grinding, or too much opportunistic bullshit of me dying in one hit. you really fucked that character up you should only focus on either strength or dex
Because your guard will break anyway and you'll lose ~80% of your health if you don't get one shotted.
you know the crest shield has magic resistance right I can tank out a pursuers with a crest shield and only lose ~40-50
No, but humanity does.
Who?
he's in the gargoyle belltower, he'll absolve your sins and shit
