Sunbros get lightning, which is usually pretty amazing against bosses or any enemy in the game. Shit, that thing is like an anti-boss sniper rifle Also I feel kinda sad I decided to tackle the DLC last (well, mostly last. Still have to finish new londo and demon ruins), because I was clearly quite over leveled for the part. They probably expected players to do the DLC as soon as they were able to get to dukes. Because I managed to be both artorius and manus with relative ease, even though they are supposed to be the most intense/hardest bosses in the game. Either I'm just good enough at the game that its easy for me to go into a boss encounter for the first time and be able to survive, or I was just so over leveled I could make tons of mistakes and just shrug it off. I had no need to use silver pendant at all during manus for example, because I either dodged all his dark magic or the few I did take only took a modest chunk of my HP away. I could easily block his biggest attack (the one where he strikes 6 times) - my guard would get broken only on the 5th blow, but by the time the 6th blow hit I could lower my shield to regen enough stamina to block that one. +5 silver knight shield helps with that I guess. Manus was tricky in that I did have to only raise my shield the moment he started an attack to keep my stam regen up but that's not a big deal. I took damage here and there but it was never enough to get me below 1/3rd total HP, and if I got close to that there was always enough time in there to quickly heal. After about 5 minutes I chipped away enough of his health to easily kill him. Plus he looks a lot bigger in the cutscene/screenshots than he actually is :( I still have to beat the dragon but I don't think thats going to be a huge deal. I was summoned to a fight where the guy wanted to go against him so I already got a taste of him and he seems difficult but if I stay on the move and get only one or two hits in then it doesn't seem so bad.
Didn't you mention you had a summon for Artorias at some point?
I'm the one that lost the fight anyway. I'm using Giant armor, Giant legs, and Giant gauntlets, no head, and a Longsword +10, and a Black Knight shield. The only reason I'm using such armor is because the poise is almost required for Oolacile PvP. He messaged me first saying the first thing I posted; this has been going back and forth for about half an hour now and I don't think he plans to stop being buttmad and covering it up anytime soon. It only makes my night better Yet he's calling me ' "fair" ' (after I told him invasions aren't supposed to be) after backstab fishing and humanity crunching.
not using grass crest shield, what are you gay or something
Didn't you mention you had a summon for Artorias at some point?
I did but the summon didn't really do much except make it die faster when we'd both attack during an opening. I could have honestly gone without because I never took much damage from artorius anyways when he was focusing on me the whole time and most of his moves were easily telegraphed enough to know when to roll out of the way etc. And I could easily block all his attacks assuming I didn't hold my shield up the whole time and didn't mind only attacking him one hit at a time before he'd be off doing his next attack.
not using grass crest shield, what are you gay or something
Nah he's just a dumb casul.
Why does my SL1 dude feel stronger than my SL80? I have honestly underestimated the power of upgraded weapons until now. I have never wrecked the Capra Demon so thoroughly in all of my other playthroughs
Dark Souls has an emphasis on weapon upgrades, it's more effective than leveling up. With my SL1 character I had no problem until I ran into Quelaag, she is really tough with only a SL1 playthrough. I still have to get past her.
I want a helmet to replace Mask of the father, but still keep my weight low enough. Suggestions?
I want a helmet to replace Mask of the father, but still keep my weight low enough. Suggestions?
Xanthous Crown. Boar Helm. Anything comically big.
Xanthous crown is the only option
The Xanthous set is probably one of my favorite sets. Not only does it have the yellow you can't get anywhere else, but it seriously comes off with that whole "desert wanderer" feel to it. If only it had some poise, it would be perfect.
not using grass crest shield, what are you gay or something
a) not using a regular crest shield, you bad or something b) fuck I don't care it looked nice
If you are invading in the township you probably get indicted as a reward not a punishment Seeing as it gives you more dueling opportunities, and its basically like a high score
I guess so, although I've already killed Manus and the Taurus demon so it's not like I'll ever be invaded by dorkmoons. I just find it odd how they indict this character more than actual invaders. Also:
That feel when you kill a hydra with a throwing knife.
You just gotta draw only one or 2 ghosts out a time or go back when you have weapons capable of one or 2 hitting the ghosts.
The sad part? I CAN one hit them. I mean I was doing so well just until that one screw up, man. It's just when they are in the air or in the ground its, for some reason, hard to process that I need to quick two-hand my weapon because that attack is vertical. Plus when you're totally surrounded, you know. I don't even know how I got surrounded, I remembered where they all were it's just, more came out of nowhere. Anyway I'm p sure I'm not even supposed to be in New Londo, but in Sen's Fortress. I realized this while gathering souls for absolution, but decided I wasn't finished exploring New Londo. Grave mistake. [sp]see what I did there[/sp]
Do npcs reappear in NG+ if you kill them before hand?
DeS has an amazing soundtrack in general. I think it's even better than DkS's soundtrack.
Don't forget this one!
Do npcs reappear in NG+ if you kill them before hand?
New Game+ is a new game, only your character carries over. You keep everything except keys/plot rings and any embers you collect are back where they were.
Xanthous crown is the only option
I need to do a xanthous dude but with CE make the head comically small.
New Game+ is a new game, only your character carries over.
I need to do a xanthous dude but with CE make the head comically small.
and then when people invade you, make your head massive praise the xanth
Kinda, apparently fires you kindled carry over in the new game but thats about the only thing I can remember that does as far as the world goes.
Yes they do. Before I finish the game I make sure to kindle every fire tomax. Then I choose the Dark Lord ending and basically negate all that work but what ever.
I just realized how the elevators in Blight town are powered. They use the fire breathing dogs as slave labor. [t]http://puu.sh/1Oeyj[/t]
I just realized how the elevators in Blight town are powered. They use the fire breathing dogs as slave labor. [t]http://puu.sh/1Oeyj[/t]
FUCK those elevators. Cost me 70,000 souls and like 15 humanity because I thought "hey why don't I try rolling off this elevator" on the way to retrieve my bloodstain.
I just realized how the elevators in Blight town are powered. They use the fire breathing dogs as slave labor. [t]http://puu.sh/1Oeyj[/t]
aw shit dude now peta is going to be all over us
I saw Demon's Souls on the PS3 market. I played, beat, and enjoyed Dark Souls multiple times but never played the game that inspired it. The multi-player is still up and around for it, right?
yes
Wow. I'm all sad and stuff. This is the first playthrough I bothered to save Solaire in, and that really got to me. Even through his depression and lost will, his hopeless thoughts that he will never find his sun, he lays his summon sign in the Kiln. Just to co-operate with you one last time. You know what I did after I beat Gwyn with Solaire at my side? I gave him the Sun he always wanted.
that's what i love about this game even though the story is something you have to really look for, and that there are no cutscenes designed for plot futhurment and whatnot, they still managed to make you connected to the characters
I just realized how the elevators in Blight town are powered. They use the fire breathing dogs as slave labor. [t]http://puu.sh/1Oeyj[/t]
For some reason my game never loaded the dog's treadmill, so whenever I looked it would just be a floating dog.
