If you go raw strength like I did (going for one-handing Smough's hammer) it's a fucking great shield. You'll never switch from it except for weight reasons or for the Black Iron Greatshield which is 10% more fire resistance. (Which is worthless, because some fire-like magic still counts as plain magic.)

Havel's 90% magic resistance is a godsend in some areas. It's one of the best ways to tank out magic bosses and attacks. Just be careful to not activate it's special stone-skin magic thing because that's pretty worthless and costs a lot of durability. This also means, always put it away before bringing up the Steam overlay. I learned that the hard way a few times.

Other than that, it's a toss up between the other great shields. Black Iron has the best fire resistance. The Giant's Greatshield has the second best total resistances next to Havel's (that I know if.) The plain "Tower Shield" doesn't have much going for it.

The Katanas,

Curved Swords...

Curved Greatswords, though those are more of Quality Build Weapons.

But for Dex-based weapons, especially for boss kills and leo ring use, you can't get much better than the Baller Swag Sword.

Great scythe is pretty much rape, also does bleed damage through shields

(1k damage on a +13 with 37 or so dex when doing the 2h strong attack plus darkmoonblade applied)

BKS moveset is terrible. BKGS hits harder, its an ultra so it staggers harder and has more reach.

If you want to use the BKS just use a claymore for the R2. If you want to use an ultra but no magic, use BKGS over zwei.

The Lifehunt Scythe is only really useful if you're willing to give up a ring slot to use the Bloodbite Ring so you don't get bled out yourself.

Her dagger is, unfortunately, horribly underpowered.

You can get a hold of blessed gear which, when you stack enough of it, will put your hp regen somewhere around 16 hp per tick.
