I'm thinking of going though this game one more time before a big break. I tried fists only and then a thief character. Can't do it. My first was Big McHugeStrength, so doing low damage and relying on backstabs/ripostes is just not for me. Should I try mage'n it up or go with a dexterity medium build?

I think I read somewhere the devs took inspiration for the actual Kiln room from Hiroshima after the bomb.

I once read that the rotating staircases in Duke's were inspired by Harry Potter. The world of Dark Souls feels so immersive and "lived in" that it's surreal to think that it was "inspired" by real life or other fiction.
