That feel when you kill Quellag, go rest at the Daughter of Chaos bonfire, then get back to and rest at firelink only to remember you forgot to ring the bell.
I had the same situation. That sucked really bad. Actually Crestfallen Warrior has dialogue if you ring blighttown bell first. Instead of "Only one bell left, but it's going to be a suicide, ha-hah-ha" he says "Only one bell left, if you have enough bravery for it, ha-hah"
Rolled a new dude, joined Sunbros, throwing lightning like there's no tomorrow. Pledging that I shall do this playthrough being human all the time so I can start getting half-not retarded at PVP.
He's going to be a strength/faith based paladin sort of deal I think, but since I have no idea how to build a character that doensn't just Great Club everything to death and I'm still fairly unfamiliar with most of the equipment, ya'll got any advice/tips/words of wisdom to spare?
Oh snap, what do I do with all of these souls on my SL1 dickwraith?
buy prism stones

If you're doing a faith build, don't upgrade a weapon along the lightning path. Find a good all-around weapon, like the Balder Side Sword or Sunlight Straight Sword, and buff it with Sunlight blade or Darkmoon Blade. If you don't mind getting 22 dex, use the Silver Knight Straight Sword for buffing. You will do godly amounts of damage when buffed and an unbuffed SKSS can take you through the game on it's own. Going the dex route will also speed up your cast time. If you're set on strength, I'd try to get one of the Black Knight weapons. You can't buff them, but they do loads of damage anyway.

Thanks! I'm not really set on strength, haven't really given dex weapons a chance so I think I might try a SS just for a change of pace.
I'm rolling a paladin :D
He was originally a cleric but ended down a more paladin-ish route considering you can't really go all out offensive on miracles until very well into the game.

I'm using the Silver Knight Straight Sword, mostly for looks but its also really good in-general. At +5 it does somewhere near 270 damage, plus D scaling in STR and C scaling in DEX (at 40 dex, where I am at now, it does somewhere near 366-70 damage).
Best thing about SKSS is that is a reasonably quick and accurate weapon, plus the strong attack works well in corridors (overhand swing). It also has really nice reach. I do miss the thrust attack I got with my longsword (what I had before) though, because thrusting is awesome.
My Faith is 30, I wouldn't go any higher than that really. The best lightning miracle you can get requires 30, and there's nothing really beyond that miracle wise that needs more for the first play through AFAIK. Lightning is awesome but it's extremely situational in PvP because its so easy to dodge. However it's basically like an anti-boss sniper rifle, especially if you have some summons with you to distract the boss. Its also very very good against really annoying enemies that you don't want to get close to.
You'll want to get at least one anti-magic miracle. Vow of Scilence is awesome, but only useful in PvP and uses up 2 attunement slots, and Great Magic Barrier is great against bosses, PvP, etc plus only uses one slot, but it doesn't stop spellcasting all together and certain types of damage (like lightning or fire I think) will still deal full.
I can attest to the power of Darkmoon blade, it seriously ups the ante. Especially since the damage it does is just one flat rate that scales with faith, so if you have a fast weapon you can shred with it (why I like the SKSS, because its damaging but still has some decent speed and control to it). Sunlight blade might end up being better, don't know - I didn't want to kill Gyndolin (or gwynvere? cant remember) and the only way to get it is via that. Plus invasions with Darkmoon are fun if you know where to go.
Also don't get force, it's useless. Emit force is very useful on the other hand.
Hah, it's way worse when you get invaded by a jerk who runs away to the elevator when he has low hp. Or a guy with 2k hp and dark silver tracer with hornet or just simple dark magic glass cannon builds. SO FUN TO BATTLE THOSE!
I fought a guy in Anor Londo yesterday who surprise-sexed me with Dark Bead, then claimed that the half-second it takes to cast the spell is totally enough time to get out of range of the spell, therefore dark magic is balanced. He also used Pursuers on me, but I rolled through.
How do I fix the screen tearing with DsFix and fps unlocked?
FPS cap
FPS cap
Like what should I cap it to and still make it look good?
60FPS
I started a new guy, I'm gonna be using the giant hammer you get off the asylum demon at the start.
I'm going to be using it completely naked.
60FPS
That's what it was set to.

It's enough time to roll through it, but the problem is the fast cast time means that if they pull Dark Bead out of nowhere it's easy to mistake it for a longer-cast/slower projectile sorcery like great soul arrow(relatively slower) or HCSM, and then get one-shotted by a dark bead shotgun. This is especially true in Anor Londo where only people in NG+ and the occasional person farming invaders will have anything beyond standard sorcery.
Fuck that wolf! Can't he be like still for one second?
EDIT: I did it now, why the hell do I feel so sorry for him?

Whaaat? The fight with Sif is amazing.
I've fought Sif several times and I never noticed that he topples over when he swings his sword at low health.

The key is to always roll when you see the animation start, if it's soul spear then just roll twice, if it's soul arrow then there's no reason to be scared, if it's actually dark bead then you don't die.
I like faith characters a lot because you get sunlight blade which is a huge buff on fast hitting weapons should you find yourself needing it, and you get to cast great magic barrier and be like:

Well jeez, I'm spent about an hour farming Parish for a Swag Sword and no dice. Should I keep trying or just go through Sen's/Londo with my halberd until I can grab a SKSS?
EDIT: Oh, nevermind it decided to drop on my this-is-the-last-time run.

WHY DO WE HAVE TO FIGHT SIF

Balder Knights are assholes. Looking for the shield? Here's 3 BSS and a rapier. Looking for a BSS? Here's 2 bucklers and a Balder Shield. Looking for any of them? Titanite.
Fuck! I wanted to make my Halberd +6 but I accidentally made it raw, any way to undo it?
Fuck! I wanted to make my Halberd +6 but I accidentally made it raw, any way to undo it?
Yup, it's in the "modify weapon" menu.
Blacksmiths can revert upgraded weapons.

That's just dark souls in general. When I wanted a broken sword from hollows I didn't get shit for 9 runs with 10 humanity.

i don't know why you'd ever want the uncursed artorias greatsword tbh

If you want to get the BSS or the shield, fight the ones that are using the Balder Shield and BSS.
The ones using a buckler are also using a rapier and they will, afaik, only drop their respective equipment.
What the flying fuck? I failed to beat Artorias over 20 fucking times in the past. Today I try to kill him on my no shield run and I killed him on the first try.
How?

He's easy if you dodge, but if you rely on blocking he will deplete your stamina before you have a chance to retaliate.
