What the flying fuck? I failed to beat Artorias over 20 fucking times in the past. Today I try to kill him on my no shield run and I killed him on the first try. How?
You learned his moveset and how to dodge it.

How?
He's a boss where good dodging heavily outweighs good blocking. I was barely able to keep up my stamina against him with my bulky heavy-armor guy because fatroll was not an option. Dodging, however, keeps you agile and able to easily exploit his few openings. He also grows in strength the longer you fight him, so a brutal light-assault is far better (and safer) than hunkering down and taking it cautious.
Oh my god, I actually defeated someone in PvP. Praise the sun! (and praise the +15 Bandit's Knife plus Hornet's Ring) [editline]20th January 2013[/editline]

this is what you get for using seek guidance [editline]20th January 2013[/editline] holy shit chaos zweihander +5
this is what you get for using seek guidance [editline]20th January 2013[/editline] holy shit chaos zweihander +5
More like Parry Parryhander
this is what you get for using seek guidance [editline]20th January 2013[/editline] holy shit chaos zweihander +5
I was curious as to what it did. they also all said either PRAISE THE SUN, BONFIRE AHEAD or DARKWRAITH AHEAD
Is that what Seek Guidance does? damn I wonder what Andre's room looks like
He's easy if you dodge, but if you rely on blocking he will deplete your stamina before you have a chance to retaliate.
Unless you have a good shields with stability and the ability to roll He was easy for me using a +5 silver knight shield. Enough stability to last through his attacks with a depleted bar (next attack, if there was one, would break my guard, but there never was), and light enough that I can roll out of the way on his other attacks (like the overhead swing) Of course I could only get one or two attacks in before he jumped away or made another attack but thats okay.
I honestly think it would be an interesting feature if in DkSII the developers made it so that which chests are mimics and which aren't is completely randomized from playthrough to playthrough. If there will even be mimics in DkSII, that is.
I murked Artorias with a +5 Black Knight Shield and a MSGS +15. As long as you can block his attacks and you're not fatrolling, you're fine.

It was easy for me if I managed to keep up, it only took 3 hits to stagger him while he tried to power-up. The fight in which I realized that (I madly rushed him because he always kicked my ass after the third power-up) was the fight I won rather easily. :v:
Back when Prepare to Die was new I learned to fight Artorias by dodging all of his attacks. His moveset is basically burnt on my corneas.
The four kings can go fuck themselves.
The four kings can go fuck themselves.
What do you think they're doing down there when you're not around
What do you think they're doing down there when you're not around
Watching Youtube on learning how to be the biggest cunts in Dark Souls.
The only enemy weapons I really want to use are the four kings sword and the scarecrow shears. On another note, I have 6 different builds, yet I have not completed the story with any of them. I have the attention span of a goldfish at this game.
I was kinda disappointed [sp]when the four kings all looked the same :( [/sp]
What do you think they're doing down there when you're not around
they were all having a nice swim in their big pool before you drained all their water like an asshole and now they want you dead
maaaaaaaaaaaaaan fuck manus you guys got any tips? character is a str/int dude.
maaaaaaaaaaaaaan fuck manus you guys got any tips? character is a str/int dude.
use rolling attacks to dodge and hit his silly-stretch hand or summon [sp]sif[/sp] to take some of the edge off (spoiler's there for a reason don't click it if you don't know nubs)
use rolling attacks to dodge and hit his silly-stretch hand or summon [sp]sif[/sp] to take some of the edge off (spoiler's there for a reason don't click it if you don't know nubs)
wow omg spoilers much
The four kings can go fuck themselves.
Another boss that was suprisingly easy for me (sans their goddamn AoE attack they do, which seems unblockable) :v: If you have enough DPS to kill a king before the next one spawns its an easy fight. There was a moment where I was waiting about 20 seconds for the next one to spawn. All of their attacks are blockable too with a decent shield Granted I was like level 70/80 lol so I imagine if you try and do 4 kings right after anor londo it'll be a real bitch [editline]21st January 2013[/editline]
maaaaaaaaaaaaaan fuck manus you guys got any tips? character is a str/int dude.
You'll want a high stability shield and when he's doing his 6-attack just run/avoid instead of trying to block it all Have something to boost stamina recovery. its very important in this fight (as such, lower you block between attacks as it signifigantly boosts stamina recovery - only block when the attack is coming). It's a fight that tests your patience as well as your ability to manage your stamina so you have enough to make an attack, roll, or not get your guard broken. Most important be patient. Its a long fight, apparently he's got the highest HP in the game. Because he attacks often it helps to have a summon as a distraction, but he'll still favor you. When attacking immediately switch to 2H to deal the best damage then back to 1H+Shield when he starts his attacks. I beat him by basically tanking his hits with a fully upgraded silver knight shield+roll, and only getting 1-2 hits in before going on the defensive again. Most of his dark magic attacks can be roll-dodged (just roll twoards him) but some are hard to dodge. It helps to have the silver pendant when he uses magic because it completely stops dark magic for about 3 seconds when its used.
I try to do Duke's first, then Bed of Chaos, followed by Nito and finishing off with the Four Kings.

Is it wrong I find a mouse and keyboard easier to use than a controller for dark souls? I mean it's easy to dodge now, but when I try to fight valley of the Drake and Josh, they keep pounding me.
What should I make my next character? I'm thinking of doing a Faith build. I'm also thinking of doing a stream tomorrow morning. Thoughts?
Paladin mode, maces, cresent axe,Morning star only, grant, maybe. Crescent Axe, Maxe, Cleric Armor and Paladin armor are only available after nito.
Reached the Undead Parish bonfire in NG++. I just need the Great Lord Greatsword and Greatshield of Artorias to have every single rare weapon. All that's left is killing Sif and following the game up to the Giant Blacksmith in Anor Londo.
