the age of man = age of dark, confirmed by both kaathe and the intro i'm pretty sure leaving the fire is the good ending
the age of man = age of dark, confirmed by both kaathe and the intro i'm pretty sure leaving the fire is the good ending
Look at Oolacile Township and ask yourself if it is truely the good ending. There is no good ending.
a necessary sacrifice i think, obviously manus is insane and evil as fuck (unless someone not-manus caused oolacile township) but the age of man starting is still better than just continuing what gwyn did
When is a good time to do the DLC?
Just got invaded for my first time today trying out a bandit character. I assume whoever invaded me is what's called a "twink" because he had end-game gear and invaded me in the undead burg. The second time i was invaded in the undead parish and I think i ran into a hacker. I got a few hits on him at first and delivered no damage and a few seconds after some huge number around 65k popped up above him and then he lag-backstabbed me from the front.
When is a good time to do the DLC?
as soon as you place the lordvessel
Beat the game for a second time, about 12 hours this time. Now I can either try a new build, make a pvp build or try an SL1 run. Wat do.
The Dark Souls wikidot is filled with fan conjecture. You're better off using http://darksoulswiki.wikispaces.com/ instead, they don't theorise over the meaning of the story, they just present quotes and item descriptions.
the wikidot is just a lot worse in general
There is a sequence to this fight: Destroy one of the two glowing roots Destroy the other glowing root. The two glowing roots are on each side of the boss. To get to those, stay to the outside of the arena and run around. Destroy the heart. A path to the heart opens after the floor falls away. The root which takes you to the heart is under the floor; when you run up the root, you end up back at floor level at the base of the boss. From there, attack the break-away roots and destroy the heart.
The thing is that nobody really knows what the age of man would really be like since there's never been one before. I believe that since Kaathe teaches people the art of lifedrain, he would further manipulate The Dark Lord into gathering every bit of humanity there's left and creating the "real" Dark Soul, leaving everyone else hollowed / mutated like in Oolacile.
Beat the game for a second time, about 12 hours this time. Now I can either try a new build, make a pvp build or try an SL1 run. Wat do.
12 hours?! I've been playing for 20 and I'm about to fight Biggy and Smalls :(
12 hours?! I've been playing for 20 and I'm about to fight Biggy and Smalls :(
2nd time arounds a lot easier, 1st one took me like 40 hours. Using magic is also ridiculously overpowered PVE so towards the end you can 1-shot everything.
Is it a good idea to try and fight Nito at SL68? I'm in the catacombs and apparently I can sit in a coffin for some time and find him. I dunno if that'll actually let me fight him, or if it's just for joining the covenant, but in the case of the former, is it a good idea?
It's just for joining the covenant.
It's just for joining the covenant.
Ok then. Nevermind. Thanks.

Besides, Humanity's effects decline rapidly in effectiveness. The difference between 1 humanity and 10 humanity is much larger than the difference between 10 humanity and 20 humanity.
Apparently I was wrong, the age of dark existed for a short period before Gwyn linked the flames. Also, I don't think the whole "invading the worlds of others" is canon and is only used for gameplay pvp. I mean, why would you drown all the innocent people living in New Londo just to seal in the Darkwraiths that only steal humanity from other worlds? [editline]21st January 2013[/editline] The point I was trying to make is that Kaathe created the Darkwraith covenant to create the Dark Soul that the furtive pygmy found in the age of ancients. To do that he has to collect all the pieces, all humanity in the world.
SL1 NG+2 done! [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/612755607821277297/D21185D34A0E2EF0270CCF36E6330458DB615A1F/[/t]

How much harder is buffed ornstein compared to buffed smough? I really want pikachus armor
superstein has his gliding attack and a grab attack so he's a bit tougher, but not too much
superstein has his gliding attack and a grab attack so he's a bit tougher, but not too much
I'm def. not gonna summon solaire on my first time, but taking into account that this will be my first time fighting them, what are some tips you can share?
I'm def. not gonna summon solaire on my first time, but taking into account that this will be my first time fighting them, what are some tips you can share?
oh if it's your first time then just get the fuck in there and see what's up
Roll
Is a DWGR gonna help?
man just figure it all out for yourself that's the whole point of your first playthrough
Is a DWGR gonna help?
DWGR makes you play worse, use your ring slot better than getting more invincibility frames than you need.
Well I just died without landing a single hit. I thought Smough was a lot slower than he actually is. Also, what should I replace the DWGR with? I'm currently using it and FaP
man just figure it all out for yourself that's the whole point of your first playthrough
The only tips I'd say new players need is how weapon upgrades, stats and scaling works, the inspect option in the inventory, where they're supposed to be going at some points and that there's blowdarts in blight town.
My personal favorites are FaP + Hornet / Red Tearstone
My personal favorites are FaP + Hornet / Red Tearstone
I mean specifically for O&S. Hornet isn't gonna come in much handy for that fight
