If he didn't attack on sight it would be different. All you do is drop in behind him and he starts chucking fireballs at you.
Maybe he's been ordered by Nito to prevent anyone from entering the Tomb of the Giants?
Maybe he's been ordered by Nito to prevent anyone from entering the Tomb of the Giants?
He wasn't working with Nito, he'd been stealing his power while Nito was laying around in his coffin.
He wasn't working with Nito, he'd been stealing his power while Nito was laying around in his coffin.
Care to provide a source for that info? I understand that the Effigy Shield said something about a ritual to steal nito's power, but I can't recall anything relating it to Pinwheel.
It calls the people that try to steal Nito's power "followers of the occult" which describes pinwheel and the necromancers in the Catacombs to a T. It also mentions that they weren't successful, but since the motivation for stealing the power was destroying the God's I doubt they would ally themselves with Nito even if Nito was ok with it. All the gods seem pretty happy doing nothing at all, except Gwyndolin, though he's more concerned with becoming more powerful by tricking the player. Come to think of it, I wonder how Petrus and friends get into ToTG when Pinwheel is still alive.
So, to anyone who read my PVP parrying guide the other day, interesting addendum. I just parried + riposted a 2-handed strong attack from a Gravelord Sword. I'm beginning to think that pretty much any physical attack is parryable.

If it's larger than a black knight, it's unparryable pretty much. As far as I know every attack from every player-carriable weapon in the game can be parried if timed right (again, except whips).

I wonder why pretty much every guide/wiki out there says you can't parry 2-handed attacks? Well, it works in my favor, since people are never expecting a parry once they switch to 2-handing.
alright so fuck starsky & hutch everything else has been easy so far but these fucking guys
Can you parry the sprint spin attack from a claymore? If so I am boned.
Yes. You can parry every player attack except for whips, jumping attacks, plunging attacks (How would you even parry that) and the larger club weapon's 2H rolling R1 (The one where you smash it into the ground. That also ignores poise). I think that's it. Not being able to parry two handed weapons would be awful, even more people would just two hand their gold tracer and spam it.
The "I'm so sorry"'s add so much more to his character too. Maybe Pinwheel was the dad, and he sacrificed the rest of his family so he could live forever, only to regret it immensely afterwards?
What about his followers? They're all wearing the same getup.
I hate it when people state "facts" about parrying that they haven't tested or aren't sure about themselves Goddamn, my automerge
If I make Anor Londo dark, can I still be summoned to fight Smough and Ornstein?
7th attempt at Drake and Josh. I just can't seem to do it. Only boss I haven't killed in one try (aside from biggy and smalls) was the stray demon.
Are you doing it solo?
First 3 times was with Sunbro, I would always die during Supersmough. After those I just get my dick punched
It's not too bad to solo, and I re-solo'd them at SL62. You just gotta watch for Ornstein the twitchy little twat. I go for Smough first, but basically [sp]if you keep a pillar between you and Ornstein, you should be alright. That goes for Round 2 when Ornstein is huge.[/sp] I'm not sure what super Smough is like though.
First 3 times was with Sunbro, I would always die during Supersmough. After those I just get my dick punched
Unless you really want Smough's armor/hammer, kill him first. Super Ornstein is much easier to deal with, just stay between his legs and hit him until his does his jump attack, roll away, repeat.

He doesn't have a grab and he isn't heavily resistant to lightning.
also someone i knew drew the guy i previously mentioned who said that dark souls is shit [editline]23rd January 2013[/editline]
What level are you, I can drop a summon sign if needed. I'm a vit/dex build because this is my first time playing and I use very light armor, but I can get heavier if needed.
I now have a controller that works~
No it doesn't, how the shit do I get a PS3 controller to work with this? I'm using MotioninJoy to emulate a xbox controller but the game just doesn't take any input from it, LIVE recognises it though.

As far as armor weight, a mid-roll is generally acceptable. Dex weapons don't have to be linked to quick characters either. As far as shield goes, use a Balder Shield.
Can you get one from the Sens merchant? Also, I'm on xbox.
Yeah, he sells them. Upgrade to +10 if you have the souls.
Yeah, he sells them. Upgrade to +10 if you have the souls.
Guess I'm gonna go do that. Edit: I'm gonna assume your on PC?
Yeah, I'm a PC player.
Yeah, I'm a PC player.
Durnit, I'm just gonna go get some humanity and make a campfire right in front of their door until someone helps
